Black Pearl Diving Center

Established in 2013, Black Pearl Diving Center has become a staple of the Hvar diving scene. The centre operates from two strategic locations on the northern coast of the island, allowing for easy access to different dive sites and varied marine environments.

You can base yourself at the Jelsa centre, located within the historic Austro-Hungarian Hotel Jadran, or head to the Vrboska centre situated in the Labranda Senses Resort. This dual-location setup ensures you can find the best conditions and sites depending on the time of year and your diving interests.

The team is composed of six experienced instructors and four dive masters, ensuring a high level of supervision and professional guidance for every excursion. This staff structure allows for a focus on safety and precise dive planning, whether you are a beginner or an advanced diver.

The centre is a PADI 5 Star Diving Center, reflecting a long-standing commitment to training standards. Beyond regular diving, the team is actively involved in environmental conservation through annual ECO-actions dedicated to seabed cleaning, helping to maintain the health of the local marine ecosystem.

The centre offers the complete spectrum of PADI training, starting from the PADI Discover Scuba Diving programme for those new to the water. For those looking to start their certification journey, they provide the PADI Scuba Diver Course, the PADI Open Water Diver Course, and various referral options for completing confined water training or open water dives elsewhere.

Progressive training continues through the PADI Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Specialty courses, including the PADI Deep Diver Specialty and PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy. For those looking to move into professional ranks, the centre runs the PADI Rescue Diver Course, the PADI Divemaster Course, and instructor training programmes.

Refresher courses are also available, such as the PADI ReActivate SCUBA Refresher Program, to ensure your skills are sharp before heading back into the water. The centre also caters to younger divers with the Bubblemaker Program and various Junior PADI courses ranging from Junior Scuba Diver to Junior Rescue Diver.

The centre operates two boats, each measuring up to 8 metres in length. These vessels are designed to accommodate up to 10 divers per session, allowing for a controlled and personal experience on the water.

These boats are used for a variety of trip types, including standard daytime excursions and night dives. They provide the necessary platform to reach the island's diverse dive sites comfortably.

Full equipment hire is available for all divers, including regulators, wetsuits, fins, and masks. For those planning to dive after sunset, torches are provided to ensure you can navigate the darker environments effectively.

The centre maintains a stock of modern, high-quality diving kit to support both training and recreational diving. This includes all the essential components needed for a complete diving rig, from BCDs to weight systems.

The diving season on Hvar runs from May 1st to October 1st. While the centre primarily operates during these months, they can arrange diving services outside of this period based on specific interest and availability.
