The reefs around Porer Island and the house reef on Sveti Andrija are home to a variety of crustaceans. You can find spiny lobsters, lobsters, and various species of shrimp hiding within the rock formations and crevices.

In the more open areas and around the wrecks, look out for conger eels and various species of cod. The rocky habitats also provide shelter for many smaller inhabitants, including various species of shrimp that inhabit the holes and cracks in the seabed.

For those interested in larger pelagics, catsharks are occasionally encountered in the area. The centre also maintains an environmental commitment to the local ecosystem, having been involved in projects to assist marine life such as catsharks.

The local waters experience a seasonal range of temperatures, typically staying between 15°C and 28°C. The diving environment varies from shallow reef flats to deeper offshore sites, which can be subject to different conditions depending on the location and depth.
