Seahorse Dive Center

Located in Vari, in the southern suburbs of Athens, Seahorse Dive Center serves as a professional hub for divers looking to explore the Saronic Gulf and the surrounding islands. The centre is positioned just 800 metres from the sea, making it an accessible base for both local residents and those travelling to the capital.

As a PADI 5 Star IDC and PADI Eco Center, the facility combines decades of industry experience with a modern approach to diving. Whether you are looking for a single recreational outing or pursuing professional instructor training, the centre operates year-round, seven days a week, providing a consistent gateway to the Aegean.

The centre is a family-run operation built by divers for divers, drawing on more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Their status as a PADI 5 Star IDC means they are equipped to handle everything from basic entry-level courses to high-level professional development.

Environmental stewardship is integrated into their daily operations. As a member of Green Fins and a participant in programmes such as PADI Aware Foundation, Dive Against Debris, and Adopt the Blue, the team maintains a strong focus on marine protection and sustainable diving practices.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with the Bubblemaker or Seal Team programmes, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Diver.

For those looking to specialise or advance their careers, the centre offers PADI Specialties, Rescue Diver, and Master Scuba Diver courses. Professional training is a core strength, with pathways available for Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and the Instructor Development Course (IDC).

The centre operates a modern 12-metre dive boat designed specifically for excursions, capable of carrying up to 20 divers or snorkelers. The vessel is powered by a 500 HP Cummins engine, ensuring reliable transit to the various sites around Athens and the nearby islands.

On board, you will find a 6 m² sea-level platform for easy entries and exits, alongside a wide access ladder. The boat is well-equipped for comfort and utility, featuring a closed cabin, two freshwater showers, and ecological toilets. For navigation and safety, the vessel is fitted with a GPS Plotter, Radar, VHF Radio, and a 120W sound system.

The centre provides a full range of equipment for hire, ensuring you can arrive with just your personal items. Safety is a primary focus, with all equipment verified by BUREAU VERITAS and the centre maintaining DAN insurance support.

Shore-based facilities include amenities for preparing for your dives, such as freshwater showers and changing areas. For those looking to extend their bottom time, Nitrox is available on site.
