You are in central Athens, close enough to walk out for food, archaeology, cafés and the general business of the capital, then return to air conditioning, a proper shower and a drink above the rooftops. The building and its public spaces were renovated and extended in 2023, with contemporary interiors shaped by Paola Navone and OTTO Studio and details that draw on Greek design rather than pretending the city ends at the hotel door.

The tone is urban and sociable. There is a lobby lounge for an unhurried coffee, rooftop space for views and cocktails, and a seasonal pool on the ninth floor when the weather plays along. You can make the hotel your pause between dives and sightseeing, but it will not ask you to spend every evening indoors. Athinas Street connects Monastiraki and Omonia, so Athens supplies plenty of reasons to put your shoes back on.

The address is Athinas 59, at the centre of Athens, on the thoroughfare linking Monastiraki Square with Omonia Square. Monastiraki Square is about 600 feet away, and Monastiraki Metro Station is roughly 1,200 feet from the hotel. That gives you a practical base for moving around the city without turning every archaeological visit into a transport operation.

The Acropolis is about 0.7 miles away on foot, the Parthenon roughly 0.8 miles, and the Ancient Agora around 0.5 miles. The Roman Agora, the Tower of the Winds and the Temple of Hephaestus are also within walking distance. For a change of scenery, Lycabettus Hill is about 0.9 miles away, while Flisvos Beach lies around 5 miles from the hotel. This is a city address first; the coast requires a separate outing.

The immediate streets mix neoclassical façades, covered markets, independent shops and the smells of a working neighbourhood. Restaurants and bars sit very close by, including Mama Roux and Manas Kouzina-Kouzina within about 200 feet, while Bookbar by Kaktos is around 100 feet away. Athens does not do silent background scenery here. It does do options.

For a couple using the room mainly to sleep, shower and reset between outings, the standard and classic doubles keep things straightforward, with a double bed, private bathroom, air conditioning and soundproofing. The refrigerator is useful for cold water when you come back hot and tired, while the coffee machine and kettle cover the first mug before you face the city again. If you want the room to play a larger part in the stay, look towards the suites. The Superior Roof Garden is the obvious choice if outdoor space matters more than adding another sofa. All rooms are non-smoking, and the property also has allergy-free and wheelchair-accessible room features. Check the exact room card before booking: the practical difference between a compact double and a suite matters more than the name on the door.

Breakfast is a buffet at Menta Breakfast Area, served in an air-conditioned interior. The spread combines American-style breakfast items with Greek influences, including pastries, seasonal fruit, lighter choices and local produce. Ingredients from the hotel's Fresh Farm in Avlida appear in the breakfast offering, so the morning has more going for it than a lonely coffee and a wrapped biscuit.

For lunch and dinner, Air Lounge Bar & Restaurant occupies the rooftop, with panoramic views towards the Acropolis and the Athenian skyline. Its modern Greek-inspired cooking follows the seasons and a farm-to-table approach, with vegetables, herbs and other ingredients sourced from the hotel's private farm and Greek producers. Light dishes and coffee work during the day; the menu and terrace suit a longer meal once the sightseeing has stopped competing for your attention.

There are three bars. Air Lounge serves signature cocktails and light dishes throughout the day, Levanta Cafe & Lounge works at ground level for coffee and informal pauses, and Pindaros Roof Top Bar opens in the evening for signature and classic cocktails and wine. An olive oil tasting is also available, built around a Greek degustation menu and extra-virgin olive oils. In other words, you can keep dinner simple, or make a proper evening of it without leaving the building.

The rooftop pool is the hotel's main answer to a hot Athens afternoon. It sits on the ninth floor with panoramic views of the Acropolis and the skyline, alongside sun loungers and an open-air setting. The pool operates seasonally from May to October, between 9.00 am and 7.00 pm, with cocktails available nearby. It is a useful place to cool down without pretending that Athens has suddenly become a beach resort.

For recovery, Mood Life Wellness offers relaxing body massages and body and face treatments in its massage room on the lower ground floor, with sessions running from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm. The gym is open around the clock and uses Technogym cardio and strength equipment. A Finnish-style sauna is also on the lower ground floor and opens from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm.

You can book outdoor yoga or Tai Chi on the rooftop deck, where the Acropolis provides the backdrop and the skyline supplies the occasional reminder that this is still a capital city. Away from the hotel, the tour desk can arrange walking tours, bike tours, cultural tours and bicycle rental. Eleftherios Venizelos Airport is about 11 miles from the hotel. The most direct public-transport route is Metro Line 3, the Blue Line, to Monastiraki Station, followed by a short walk. Taxis and private airport transfers can also be arranged through the hotel on request; a shuttle service is available in private or arranged form, so confirm the details when you book.

Check-in starts at 3.00 pm and check-out is by 11.00 am. You need photo identification and a payment card at check-in, and the hotel asks you to provide your expected arrival time.
