Arian Diving Centre

Located on the Miaouli Coast in Kardamena, Arian Diving Centre is one of the longest-standing diving operations in Greece. What began as a family business has evolved over four decades into a professional centre capable of supporting everything from introductory dives to advanced specialty training.

The centre is ideally positioned to explore the Aegean's unique geology. You can expect to encounter a mix of volcanic formations, rocky reefs, and submerged historical artefacts, all serviced by a team that has been operating in these waters since 1978.

The team is led by Arian Tsapari Rassi and includes a range of certified instructors. The staff includes Emilie, a Master Scuba Diving Instructor with over 2500 dives, and Farrell, the Head Instructor and Captain with over 5000 dives. Other instructors include Paula, Raúl, and Assistant Instructor Guillermo, ensuring a high level of expertise for all training programmes.

Instruction is conducted in several languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian. This multilingual approach makes the centre a reliable choice for international divers looking to complete SSI or ANDI certifications.

As a 5-star affiliated centre, the operation maintains a strong focus on safety and environmental awareness. The team's deep roots in the local diving community are reflected in their long-standing presence on Kos.

The centre offers a comprehensive curriculum through SSI and ANDI. For those starting their journey, courses include Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver. More advanced divers can progress through the Advanced Adventurer, Deep Diver, and Navigation Specialty Diver programmes.

Specialised training is also available, covering skills such as Perfect Buoyancy, Night Diver, Search & Recovery, and Recreational Sidemount. For those looking towards a professional career, the centre provides SSI Divemaster training and internship programmes. They also offer specific modules like Fish Identification and Scuba Skills Update.

The fleet consists of three vessels. The Roxy and Athina are dedicated diving boats, each with a capacity for 8 to 10 divers. These boats are equipped with spacious cabins to keep your belongings dry, marine toilets, and ample storage space for equipment. They feature shaded areas and a forward deck for relaxing between dives, with comfortable facilities designed for easy entry and exit from the water.

The Dimitra is a newer, high-speed motorboat used primarily for private experiences. It offers a more agile way to reach dive sites and includes integrated features like a cooler and speakers for a more personalised trip.

Onshore, the centre utilises an Alkin Silent Canopy compressor to ensure high air quality for all cylinders. Nitrox is available for certified divers.

For those requiring rental kit, a full range of equipment is provided. This includes 5mm Beuchat wetsuits, Tusa fins with 5mm boots, Tusa Liberator 2 BCDs, and Apeks DS4 ATX40 regulators. Divers can also use Cressi Donatello computers provided by the centre.

The marine life around Kos is diverse, with the rocky reefs and canyons hosting a variety of resident species. You can regularly observe octopus, cuttlefish, moray eels, and scorpionfish sheltering in the crevices of the reef.

For those interested in larger pelagics and active swimmers, the area is home to amberjack and great barracuda. The reef flats and rocky areas also support various species of sea bream, flounder, and red mullet.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, including nudibranchs and various species of sponge. The landscape is further enriched by peacock wrasse and a variety of sponges that cover the rock faces.

The diving environment in Kos is characterised by its volcanic geology, which creates unique underwater features like canyons and bubble-emitting reefs. Visibility is generally good, often reaching between 20 and 30 metres.

While specific current and swell data for every site is not provided, the variety of sites—from sheltered reefs to open island walls—allows for a range of diving experiences depending on the day's conditions.
