Diving Center Saracen Favignana

Diving Center Saracen Favignana is situated at Punta Lunga on the southern coast of Favignana, the largest island in the Egadi archipelago. The centre sits directly within the Egadi Islands Marine Protected Area, a vast conservation zone that encompasses 77 different dive sites. This location ensures a high level of biodiversity and protected habitats for you to explore.

The centre is designed for both comfort and technical precision, offering spacious changing areas and relaxation zones. Whether you are looking for your first breath underwater or are a technical diver planning a complex decompression profile, the facilities are geared towards supporting a professional diving experience.

The instructional team is composed of highly qualified SSI professionals, including several Instructor Trainers. Martina Campagnolo serves as an SSI Instructor Trainer and technical instructor, while Roby Bottini is an XR Instructor Trainer specialising in hypoxic, SCR, and closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) environments. Tony Scontrino is also an SSI XR Instructor Trainer, covering both recreational and technical disciplines.

Rounding out the team is Silvia Saini, an SSI Instructor. This depth of expertise means the centre is well-equipped to handle everything from entry-level training to the most demanding technical certifications, including sidemount and extended range diving.

The training programme is extensive, covering the full spectrum of SSI certifications. Beginners can start with Try Scuba or Scuba Diver, progressing through to Open Water Diver and Advanced Adventurer levels. The centre also offers specialised skills training such as Perfect Buoyancy and Night Diving.

For those looking to advance into technical diving, the curriculum includes Foundations Extended Range, Extended Range Nitrox, Technical Extended Range, and Hypoxic Trimix. They also provide specialised training in Sidemount Diving, XR Wreck, and Cave Diving, alongside SCR/CCR diving. Professional divers can pursue career paths through Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Instructor programmes.

The centre maintains a high standard of equipment, with new, reputable brands available for hire. This includes full kit sets for those not travelling with their own regulator, BCD, or wetsuit.

For gas blending, the centre uses latest-generation Coltri compressors. These allow for the reliable production of Air, Nitrox, and Trimix, ensuring that technical divers have access to the precise gas mixes required for their profiles.

The protected waters around Favignana are home to diverse marine life, including large pelagics and various cetaceans. You may encounter Caretta caretta as you explore the reefs and seagrass meadows.

The seabed is characterised by extensive Posidonia oceanica meadows, which provide a vital habitat for numerous species. These underwater forests create a rich environment for observing the local ecosystem in its natural state.
