Located in Frederiksted, US Virgin Islands, Nep2une Scuba Diving is positioned perfectly to explore the west coast of St. Croix. The centre is situated just a short walk from the Frederiksted Pier, placing you within minutes of some of the most diverse marine environments in the area.

Because the centre operates with smaller vessels than many of the larger operations on the island, you have access to sites that remain out of reach for the bigger boats. This allows for a more intimate connection with the underwater landscape, whether you are exploring a wreck or drifting along a reef.

The centre operates with a focus on personalised service, ensuring that every diver receives professional attention. They maintain a strict ratio of maximum six divers per guide, which is ideal for maintaining buoyancy control and safety in varied conditions.

As an SSI affiliated centre, the team provides a structured environment for both recreational and specialty training. The instructors and divemasters are well-versed in the local waters, offering guidance for everything from first-time Discover Scuba Diving participants to advanced divers looking to sharpen their skills.

The centre provides a comprehensive range of SSI training programmes. Beginners can start with the Basic Diver or Open Water Diver courses, including Open Water Referral options for those completing their training elsewhere.

For experienced divers, there is a wide array of specialty courses to refine your skills. These include Nitrox, Deep Diving, Boat Diving, Perfect Buoyancy, Navigation, Night Diving, Photo & Video, Search & Recovery, and Wreck Diving. The centre also offers ecology-focused training such as Marine Ecology, Coral Identification, Fish Identification, Shark Ecology, Manta & Ray Ecology, and Sea Turtle Ecology.

Safety and rescue training are also a priority, with courses available in React Right (CPR & First Aid) and Diver Stress & Rescue, including combo options for those looking to advance their proficiency.

The centre uses smaller boats designed to navigate the local coastline with ease, allowing access to more secluded sites. These vessels are well-equipped for day trips, with a capacity of up to six divers per trip.

On board, you will find refreshments including water, fruit, cookies, and snacks to keep your energy up between dives. For those opting for sunset charters, the service includes two bottles of wine or rum punch. Local Leatherback beer is also provided following aquatic activities.

For those travelling light, a full range of rental kit is available, including BCDs, regulators, masks, fins, and wetsuits. You can also hire individual items such as masks and snorkels or just a wetsuit if you prefer to use your own buoyancy and breathing apparatus.

Nitrox is available for divers who require it, provided you give the centre 48 hours' notice. For boat dives, the centre includes the use of air cylinders and weights in their dive packages.

The reefs are teeming with life, ranging from large pelagics to delicate macro species. You will frequently encounter sea turtles, southern stingrays, and various species of sharks, including Caribbean reef sharks and nurse sharks. Schools of fish such as snapper, jacks, and various Caribbean fish are common sights across the different dive sites.

For those interested in the smaller details, the area is home to a wealth of macro life. Look for seahorses, octopus, moray eels, and various species of blennies and gobies. You may also spot nudibranchs or various crustaceans like spiny lobster tucked into the reef structure.

The reef architecture itself is a highlight, featuring massive barrel sponges, sea anemones, and various gorgonians. You will see a vibrant array of corals and sponges, including azure vase sponges and rope sponges, providing a complex habitat for fish like angelfish, batfish, and various species of wrasse and damselfish.

Frederiksted is located on the leeward side of St. Croix, which is known for having calmer seas throughout the year. This is particularly true during the winter months from December to March.

When planning your dives, be aware that the Frederiksted Pier is subject to restrictions; swimming, snorkeling, or diving at the pier is prohibited whenever a cruise ship is in port.
