C Mauritius is built for the sort of holiday where you can be active before lunch, horizontal by mid-afternoon and still have enough energy left for cocktails. The mood is relaxed and playful rather than formal, with the beach, gardens and outdoor spaces doing much of the heavy lifting. You can treat it as a base for water sports, a comfortable place to eat and sleep, or a resort where your main achievement is remembering where you left your sunglasses.

Belle Mare Beach lies about 1 mile away, while Quatre Cocos Beach is around 1.5 miles from the resort.

The surrounding area gives you a few easy options beyond the resort. Bars and restaurants sit within roughly 0.2 miles, including K-Bar, Baracuda Bar, Icery 1869 Bar, Mixe, Beach Rouge and Amari by Vineet. Ilot Levrettes and Ilot Lievres are around 3 miles away, and GRSE Waterfall is about 7 miles from the property. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport is approximately 26 miles away by road.

For two of you, the Prestige rooms keep things straightforward: a super-king bed, air conditioning and a terrace or balcony in which to sit down before your legs remember the day's activities. The beachfront version is the one to choose when the sea should be part of the room experience rather than merely visible somewhere beyond the grounds. It puts the location to work from the moment you open the door.

If three people are sharing, the Deluxe category gives you more room to organise the evening without conducting a small logistical exercise around the bed. Deluxe Beachfront is the practical choice when that extra space matters but the beach remains the priority. The rooms are locally inspired and include a minibar, private safe, shower room, satellite television and complimentary WiFi.

Air conditioning matters in Mauritius, particularly when you return warm, salty and ready for a shower rather than a conversation about the weather. Daily housekeeping keeps the room in order while you are busy with the sea, the spa or whichever activity seemed like a good idea before breakfast. Children of any age are welcome, with cots and extra beds available according to the chosen accommodation.

Dining Room handles the dependable structure of the day: international cuisine served buffet-style at breakfast, lunch and dinner. That gives you the useful freedom to eat quickly before an activity, return for something more substantial when hunger catches up, or simply inspect the buffet with the concentration usually reserved for dive tables. Breakfast is served as a buffet, and child-friendly dishes and special-diet menus are available.

Wok ’n’ Roll shifts the food towards Asia and adds a view, while Cpicerie covers the less formal moments with doughnuts, waffles, croissants, deli-style food, drinks and cocktails. It is also the answer when room service is not the plan but you still want something easy to take back to your room or onto the beach. In other words, you do not have to sit down for a full meal every time your appetite appears.

There are two named drinking spots. The Bar focuses on cocktails and evening entertainment, while the Wine Cellar works with biodynamic wines. The stay is all-inclusive, with several places to eat and drink rather than one restaurant doing every job, which is usually welcome by the fourth day when even your favourite table has started to look like a duty.

The sea is the obvious playground here. You can use the on-site water-sports facilities for kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing and kitesurfing, with pedalo, a floating trampoline, kite discovery, kitefoil, wingfoil and even a water-gun battle also on the menu. Snorkelling is available too. The result is a place where a non-diving partner can build a perfectly respectable water-based day while you are occupied elsewhere.

On land, you have a tennis court with equipment, padel, bocceball, volleyball, beach soccer, aqua volley, table tennis, darts, babyfoot and a games room. Archery, walking tours and a guided C Trek to Le Pouce mountain add a little more structure for anyone who cannot sit still for an entire afternoon. There is also a clubhouse with board games, plus smaller competitive distractions such as beer pong, Molky, spike ball and treasure hunts.

For the quieter version of the day, C Spa offers massages, body wraps and body scrubs, with a relaxation area, steam room, sauna and open-air bath. You can also book couples, head, neck, back, foot, hand or full-body massages, alongside facials, manicures and pedicures. The spa opens from 9.30 to 20.00. A fitness centre runs from 06.30 to 20.00, with yoga, circuit training, stretching, body-weight, abdominal, back and glute classes, as well as private coaching.

Check-in starts from 14.00 and check-out is by 12.00. You need photo identification and a credit card at arrival, and the resort asks you to share your expected arrival time in advance. Cash is not accepted. A 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, currency exchange and a tour desk cover the useful bits of administration when you would rather be thinking about the next swim.

The airport is around 26 miles away, with a journey of roughly 41 minutes by car. Airport transfers are available through the hotel in private or shared form and should be arranged directly with the property. Car hire is also available, while free private parking is available on site without reservation. WiFi is free throughout the resort.

The resort is family-friendly, with an indoor play area, board games and babysitting or child services. Laundry and dry cleaning are available, and pets are not allowed. The accommodation rules for cots and extra beds depend on the room selected, so check the arrangement for your chosen room if you are travelling with children.
