Set at the foot of Le Morne Brabant, Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa is built around suites, tropical gardens and a broad beachfront. You come here for a resort where the sea, the spa and the evening meal are all part of the same address, rather than separate errands after a day outdoors.

The feel is polished but practical in the places that matter to a diver: air-conditioned accommodation, a private terrace or balcony, room service and several ways to spend the evening without leaving the peninsula. Couples have adults-only accommodation and a private pool area with pool service, while families have family suites, a kids’ club for children aged 3 to 11 and babysitting on request.

You also have access to facilities at the adjacent Paradis Beachcomber, including its restaurants and resort amenities. That gives you more choice than the room card alone might suggest, although some arrangements depend on availability or the room category you book.

The resort sits on the Le Morne peninsula in Le Morne, Mauritius, on the island’s western coast. The beach is directly in front of the property: white sand, turquoise water and the mountain forming the backdrop rather than a distant postcard detail.

Le Morne Beach is roughly 300 feet away, while La Prairie Beach is about 3.3 miles from the resort. Black River Gorges National Park is around 1.6 miles away, and Cascade Chamarel is about 4.7 miles away, giving you straightforward options for a day on land when your dive plan has a rest day written all over it.

The nearest airport, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, is roughly 22 miles away. The setting is deliberately away from a busy town centre, so the resort itself carries much of the evening infrastructure: restaurants, a bar, a minimarket, boutiques and concierge services.

The accommodation is suite-based rather than built around compact hotel rooms. Every suite has air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a seating area, a flat-screen television, a private bathroom and a balcony or terrace. Some also face the Indian Ocean, so the room choice matters if your ideal post-dive ritual involves opening the doors to a sea view rather than studying the back of a wardrobe.

For two of you, a Junior Suite keeps things straightforward, while the beachfront versions put the sand and sea closer to the daily routine. The Senior Suite Beachfront is the more generous choice when you want room to spread out, sit down properly and avoid the familiar holiday manoeuvre of stepping over bags to reach the bathroom. Honeymoon and adults-only options are available for couples who prefer a quieter booking category.

Families can move up to the two-bedroom suites, including a beachfront version. Depending on the option, sleeping arrangements use a super-king bed with single beds or a sofa bed. Bathrooms include a bath or shower, bathrobes, slippers, toiletries and a hairdryer; a minibar and electric kettle cover the small practicalities, including the first drink after you return tired and sun-warmed.

You have four restaurants at the resort, including a beachfront restaurant, with a choice of cuisines rather than a single dining room doing all the heavy lifting. Across the peninsula, the choice extends to eight restaurants, with four more at the adjacent Paradis Beachcomber. Dining between Beachcomber properties is possible, subject to the applicable arrangements and reservations.

Breakfast is American in style, and breakfast can also be served in your room. Room service runs on limited hours, with a tray charge, so it is useful for a quiet meal or a late return but not a promise of an all-night kitchen. There is a bar on site, along with a minibar in the suites.

An all-inclusive option covers lunch and a selection of beverages. If you choose half board instead, drinks are not included. Restaurant dress is casual during the day, with swimwear and tank tops excluded, and casual smart in the evening, when shorts, beachwear and sportswear stay out of the dining room.

Five outdoor pools are available, with heated pools in winter in the room crescents when temperatures allow. The adults-only area has its own private pool and pool service, while sun loungers, beach chairs and umbrellas give you somewhere to put your feet up without turning relaxation into another organised activity.

Spa Beachcomber handles the slower work, with massage treatments, a sauna, steam room, hammam, relaxation area and beauty services. The fitness centre includes fitness and yoga classes, and a personal trainer is available on request. After several days of diving, the sensible choice may be the treatment room; the more energetic option is tennis, badminton, table tennis or one of the land activities arranged on site.

Golfers have access to two 18-hole par-72 courses, Paradis Golf Club and Mont Choisy. The resort also offers water-based activities, kitesurfing through its kitesurf school, glass-bottom boat trips and snorkelling excursions. On land, you can book cycling, hiking, cultural classes, cooking classes and themed evenings, with live music and evening entertainment for those who prefer a programme to a book.

Check-in starts at 14:00 and check-out is by 12:00. You need to share your expected arrival time in advance, which is worth doing if your flight lands late or your transfer has a long island crossing ahead. An airport shuttle is available, and car hire can be arranged through the resort.

Free private parking is available on site without reservation. A 24-hour reception, concierge, tour desk, currency exchange and luggage storage cover the practical gaps around travel days, while daily housekeeping, laundry, dry cleaning and room service keep the suite functional during a longer stay. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

Children of all ages are welcome, with cots available on request depending on the accommodation option. There are no extra beds. The resort is non-smoking in the rooms and covered public areas, and pets are not allowed. For a honeymoon booking, the resort prepares lunch benefits and one couple experience under its honeymoon arrangements; restaurant reservations and the relevant booking conditions still matter.
