JKAB Lagoon Resort suits you if your ideal evening involves a cool room, a proper meal and somewhere to sit without having to leave the property. For a change of scenery, Trincomalee Railway Station is around 10 miles away by road.

The more historic side of Trincomalee is further out. Fort Frederick and the Maritime and Naval History Museum are each around 11 miles away by road, with Koneswaram Beach in the same general direction. China Bay Airport is listed at around 13 miles by road, with a drive of about 28 minutes.

The room choice covers straightforward doubles, family-sized options and a much larger apartment with garden views. For two of you, the lake-view double gives the lagoon setting a role in the room rather than leaving all the scenery downstairs. The deluxe double and deluxe junior suite are the more natural choices if you want a little more room around the bed without moving into family accommodation.

Travelling as three or four? The triple room and quadruple room make more sense than trying to squeeze a couple into a double. The apartment with garden view is the practical choice for a larger group, with several bathrooms and enough space to separate sleeping and living arrangements. That is the option to look at when dive bags, ordinary luggage and several people all need to coexist without negotiating every square inch.

Air conditioning is available, and rooms also have a fan, so you can set up the night according to how warm you feel after a day in the sun. Private bathrooms, showers, towels, toiletries, a wardrobe and a clothes rack cover the basics. Balconies are part of the accommodation offering, while soundproof rooms are available for a quieter night's sleep.
