Dive For You provides access to two distinct diving environments in Sri Lanka, operating from Hikkaduwa on the west coast and Nilaveli in Trincomalee on the east coast. This dual-location setup allows you to follow the seasonal shifts, ensuring reliable diving conditions throughout the year by moving between the two coasts.

In Hikkaduwa, you can dive directly from the shore near the Hikka Tranz, where green sea turtles frequently visit the reef flat. In Trincomalee, the centre is based at the Nilaveli Beach Hotel, offering access to the spectacular pinnacles and pelagic encounters for which the east coast is famous.

As a PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, the centre maintains a high standard of professional service and safety. The team is composed of qualified instructors ready to guide you through everything from your first breath underwater to professional-level training.

The centre is committed to marine conservation, engaging in reef monitoring, restoration, and cleaning programmes. This dedication to the environment is woven into their teaching, helping divers understand the delicate ecosystems they explore.

The centre offers a complete catalogue of PADI courses for all ages, starting from the PADI Bubble Maker for children and the PADI Junior Open Water Course. For adults, the full range of certifications is available, including Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Rescue Diver.

Specialist training is also available to refine your skills, such as the PADI Wreck Diver, PADI Deep Diver, and Divemaster programmes. To make your time on site more efficient, you can complete your PADI e-Learning before arrival, allowing you to focus on your water skills once you reach the centre.

The centre provides a full range of rental equipment to suit divers of all experience levels. The kit is high-quality and well-maintained, featuring Scubapro regulators and Scubapro buoyancy control devices (BCDs). For those using 12-litre cylinders, the centre stocks Luxfer models with both DIN and Yoke valves.

Because the tropical waters are warm, the rental stock includes lightweight 3mm wetsuits. If you prefer to use your own equipment, the centre offers a discount for divers bringing their own kit.

The waters around the centre are rich with large marine species. You can regularly encounter green sea turtles, rays (Batoidea), and various species of reef fish. The area is also known for sightings of dolphins and the occasional reef shark.

During the season from November to April, the east coast offers spectacular opportunities to see blue whales, sperm whales, and Bryde's whales. You may also encounter spinner dolphins and bottlenose dolphins throughout the year.

For those looking for larger pelagics, whale sharks are a significant draw for the region. The rocky walls and pinnacles often host schools of barracuda, jacks, and various species of snapper and grouper (Epinephelus).

The reef habitats are beautifully decorated with various corals, gorgonians, and sea anemones (Actiniaria). These structures support a vast array of life, including moray eels (Muraenidae), lionfish (Pterois volitans), and porcupinefish (Diodon).

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to explore in the crevices and coral branches. The sites are home to a variety of nudibranchs (Chromodoris willani), octopus (Octopus vulgaris), shrimps, and crabs, providing a constant stream of small creatures for close-up observation.

Diving in Sri Lanka is highly seasonal. The west coast is best explored from October to April, while the east coast is most reliable from April to October. This allows you to enjoy consistent conditions by switching locations as the monsoon winds shift.

Conditions can vary significantly between sites. While some coral gardens offer calm, shallow environments, others like Black Coral Point can be subject to strong currents and swell. It is common to encounter moderate currents at several of the rocky formations.
