Sea Star Diving

Sea Star Diving is situated in the sheltered bay of Molunat, the final village before the Montenegrin border. This positioning offers a calm environment for diving, making it an ideal base for exploring the southern Adriatic coast.

The centre has been operating for over 12 years, providing a local, family-run atmosphere for both beginners and certified divers. You can choose to explore the coastline via easy shore entries or head out on boat dives to reach more varied sites.

The centre is affiliated with SSI and is run by a professional team of instructors. They focus on maintaining small groups to ensure safety and a personal experience for every diver on the water.

Instruction is provided in both English and Croatian. The team handles everything from initial student training to advanced professional development, including the Divemaster programme.

Sea Star Diving offers a comprehensive range of SSI courses. For those new to the water, they provide Junior Open Water Diver and Open Water Diver training, as well as introductory discovery dives.

Advanced divers can progress through the Advanced Open Water Diver course and specialise in areas such as Deep, Night, Navigation, and Wreck diving. The centre also provides Diver Stress & Rescue training and skill updates for those looking to refresh their abilities. Professional training for the Divemaster level is available upon request.

The centre offers boat diving to access sites beyond the immediate coastline. These trips allow you to reach deeper structures and more remote locations in the Adriatic.

Full kit hire is available on-site for those not travelling with their own equipment, including fins, masks, and complete sets. You can also choose to hire individual pieces of kit as needed.

Guided dives include your cylinder, weights, and a guide to lead the way.

The Adriatic waters around Molunat are home to various schools of fish that move through the reefs and rock formations. You will often see large groups of schooling fish passing by the walls and wrecks.

On the more permanent structures, you can find Gorgonian (Gorgonacea) and European conger (Conger conger). These species inhabit the crevices and ledges, adding texture and life to the underwater landscape.

In the rocky areas and near the caves, conger moray eels are frequently encountered. The marine life is well-distributed across the different habitats, from the reef flats to the deeper walls.

The best time to dive in this area is from May to October. The bay of Molunat provides a sheltered environment, which can help mitigate the effects of surface swell.
