Diving Center Venus

Located in Kaštel Stari, Venus Diving Centar sits in a strategic position between the major hubs of Split and Trogir. This location offers easy access to the most interesting underwater topography of the central Adriatic, from the steep walls of Čiovo to the historic wrecks surrounding Šolta and Mrduja.

The centre is led by a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and has been operating for over two decades. The team is comprised of experienced Divemasters and certified PADI instructors who ensure that dive groups are always divided according to certification levels, maintaining a high standard of safety and training quality.

Communication is straightforward for international divers, as the team is multilingual, speaking English, German, Slovenian, and Slovak. This allows for clear briefings and precise instruction, whether you are completing your first certification or working through advanced specialties.

The training programme is extensive, covering the full spectrum of PADI certifications. Beginners can start with Discover Scuba Diving or the Bubblemaker programme, eventually progressing through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses.

For more experienced divers, the centre offers a wide range of specialties including Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Night Diver, and Cavern Diver. They also provide professional training paths such as Divemaster, as well as specialised courses like Peak Performance Buoyancy, Underwater Navigator, and PADI Search and Recovery.

The centre operates a BSC speedboat powered by a 250HP Honda engine, providing efficient transit to the offshore sites. The boat is equipped with dry compartments and waterproof bags to keep your belongings secure during the trip. On board, you will find water and sufficient space to relax between dives.

Venus Diving Centar maintains a professional kit inventory using exclusively Aqualung equipment. For those looking to hire a full rig, the centre provides complete sets including regulators, BCDs, and wetsuits.

The facility is well-equipped for technical and recreational needs, offering Nitrox for divers looking to extend their bottom time. For those staying locally, the centre provides equipment storage and a free transfer service for your heavy gear and luggage.

The reefs and walls of the Adriatic are rich with fixed life. You will find vibrant gorgonians decorating the cliffs and various species of sponges and sea fans clinging to the rock faces. These structures provide the essential architecture for the local ecosystem.

In the open water and around the reefs, you will encounter large schools of fish. Common sightings include various fish species, alongside more elusive residents like octopus and eels hiding in the shadows of the wrecks.

Macro life is abundant in the crevices and rocky outcrops. Keep an eye out for octopus, eels, and various crustaceans including lobsters and crabs. Scorpionfish and seahorses can often be found camouflaged among the reef structures.

Diving in this region is best enjoyed from May to October. While the waters are generally calm, the centre manages various site types including deep walls and wrecks that may be subject to local currents.
