Via Magellano 8 places the hotel in Cala Gonone, on Sardinia's Gulf of Orosei. The seafront is about 30 metres away, while Spiaggia Centrale is roughly 300 metres from the door. Spiaggia Palmasera is around half a mile away on foot, and Spiaggia di Sos Dorroles is about 1 km away.

You are in the town centre, with restaurants close by rather than marooned on the edge of a complex. Retrovino, Zio Pedrillo and Duepi are all within roughly 250 metres, so an evening meal does not require a taxi or a discussion about who is still fit to drive.

The coast is the obvious draw, but the setting also gives you access to inland Sardinia. Tiscali is about 10 miles away by road, and the hotel can help arrange walks in the hinterland, tailored hiking routes, horse-riding outings, beach trips and mini-cruises around the gulf.
