You find the village on a hillside outside Cannigione, in north-east Sardinia, surrounded by eucalyptus woodland and cork oak country. Cannigione itself is about 800 metres away, or roughly half a mile, which puts local restaurants and the resort centre within easy reach while keeping the accommodation away from the waterfront bustle.

The nearest listed beach, La Sciumara, is about half a mile away by road. Cannigione Beach is around 1 mile away, while Spiaggia della Punga and Cala Ginepro are each about 1 mile from the property by the most direct distances. The practical answer is the free shuttle: it runs to several Costa Smeralda beaches at scheduled times, including Tanca Manna, Mannena, Baja Sardinia, Piccolo Pevero, Capriccioli and Liscia Ruja.

For a day out, the Giants Tombs of Coddu Vecchiu are about 4.4 miles away by road, and Arcipelago di La Maddalena National Park is around 8 miles away. Arzachena railway station is about 5 miles away by road, although a car remains the simpler option for moving between beaches, archaeological sites and the coast.

The accommodation gives you several ways to organise a diving trip. Couples can keep things simple in a studio with a large bed, air conditioning, a balcony, satellite television, microwave and fridge. That fridge matters more than it sounds when you return hot, thirsty and slightly less graceful than you were at breakfast.

For three people, the ground-floor studio adds an outdoor veranda and a kitchenette with a fridge and utensils. Families or groups can move up to an apartment with separate sleeping areas, while the mobile homes offer another self-contained option for up to four or six guests. The largest apartment is the sensible choice when several adults need room to spread out rather than taking turns with bags, masks and wet towels.

A tent keeps the arrangement closer to camping, with a large bed for two adults and one child, but no bathroom. At the other end of the scale, the apartments and mobile homes give you the space and basic facilities needed for a longer stay. Air conditioning is available in the accommodation, and daily housekeeping and laundry are available as services. The property also has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests.

The Ristorante Pizzeria handles the day from breakfast through to dinner, so you do not have to turn every meal into a logistical exercise. Special-diet menus are available on request, and packed lunches are also offered.

There is one named bar: Bar Chiringuito, beside the pool. It serves drinks, cocktails and snacks, which covers the important post-dive sequence of finding a chair, ordering something cold and avoiding any sudden decisions. The bar is open throughout the day for drinks and light meals, while the poolside setting keeps refreshments close to the loungers.

The 24-metre outdoor swimming pool is the main place to unwind, with a hydromassage area, sun terrace, umbrellas, loungers and separate children’s and adult swimming areas. The Bar Chiringuito sits at the poolside, so moving from water to shade to a drink requires very little ambition. Swimming lessons and aqua fitness are also available for adults and children.

When you want to do something more active without committing to another expedition, you can play table tennis, use the games room or hire bicycles at reception. Horse riding is available on site, and the surrounding area lends itself to exploring by bike or car. Boat trips and island tours can take you towards the La Maddalena archipelago, while boat hire with a driver and tours of Costa Smeralda beaches offer more time on the water without requiring you to organise the navigation.

There is plenty here for a mixed group. Children have indoor and outdoor play areas, a playground, board games and a children’s pool area, while adults can settle by the water or head out towards Cannigione. Pets are welcome throughout the property apart from the pool area, with no extra charge.

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is about 17 miles away by road, with a drive of roughly half an hour. Airport transfers can be arranged with the property, either privately or as a shared service, so sort that out before arrival if you are not hiring a car. Free private parking is available on site, with video surveillance, and reservations are not required for a parking space.

Check-in runs from 15:00 to 19:30, and check-out is from 07:00 to 10:00.
