Bluelba diving center

Bluelba Diving Center is situated on the northern coast of Elba, specifically within the Camping Village Rosselba Le Palme in Ottone. This location provides a convenient base for exploring the Tuscan coastline and the island's unique underwater topography.

You can access the diving operations directly from the beach, making the transition from shore to boat seamless. The centre operates morning and afternoon sessions, ensuring you can fit diving into your daily schedule.

The centre is affiliated with PADI, providing internationally recognised certifications for both adults and children. Instruction is available for a wide range of levels, from the Bubblemaker for younger divers to advanced specialties.

Staffed by certified instructors, the centre caters to a diverse international clientele, with instruction available in Italian, English, French, Spanish, German, and Dutch. This multilingual approach ensures clear communication during everything from introductory Discover Scuba Diving sessions to advanced Rescue Diver training.

The training programme follows the PADI curriculum, covering everything from the initial Discover Scuba Diving and Junior Open Water Diver courses to full Open Water Diver certifications. For those looking to advance their skills, the centre offers Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and Dive Master courses.

Specialised training is also available through the EFR Emergency First Response programme and the Scuba Reactivate-Refresher Course. For younger divers, the curriculum includes Junior PADI Scuba Diver, Junior Advanced Open Water, and Junior Rescue Diver certifications.

The centre utilises medium-speed boats for excursions, ensuring you reach the dive sites quickly. Most trips to the local sites require a navigation time of no more than 20 minutes from the beach.

For those looking to explore the surface, snorkeling kit including fins, masks, and snorkels is available for hire. The centre is conveniently located within the camping village, providing easy access to accommodation options ranging from mobile homes to glamping tents.

The marine life around the Scoglietto reserve is diverse, with grouper (Epinephelinae) frequently seen near the walls and rocky outcrops. You may also encounter various species of rock formations and reef structures that define the local seabed.

In the surrounding waters, you can find various species of crabs, including spider crabs, and various types of moray eels. Other common inhabitants include scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) and various species of eel (Anguilliformes).

Looking closer at the seabed and rocky crevices, you might spot lobsters (Homaridae) and spiny lobsters (Palinuridae). This area is also home to various species of sponge and gorgonians (Gorgonacea) that provide colour to the underwater landscape.

Diving in the area is primarily conducted via boat, with sites located a short distance from the shore. The proximity of the sites to the beach allows for efficient morning and afternoon dive schedules.
