For rail connections, Ischitella station is about 1.5 miles from the property; Foggia Gino Lisa Airport is around 57 miles away, with a driving time of about 1 hour 26 minutes.

The room choice is mainly about how you want to use the space. For two, the Deluxe Room keeps things straightforward with a king-size bed, while the Junior Suite gives you more room to spread out after a long day outdoors. The Junior Suite with Terrace is the one to look at if stepping outside matters more than simply having another indoor corner.

Travelling with family? The Superior Double Room is the practical option, combining a king-size bed with bunk beds rather than asking everyone to negotiate the same sleeping arrangement. All rooms have a balcony or patio, air conditioning and a private entrance, so you can get outside without making a production of it.

A refrigerator is useful for keeping water cold, while soundproofing, a mosquito net and air conditioning help make the night more comfortable in a warm coastal climate. You also have a wardrobe, a drying rack for clothes, a desk, WiFi and a private bathroom with shower or bath, towels, toiletries and a hairdryer. Ristorante Il Giardino handles breakfast, lunch and dinner, with seating indoors or on an airy veranda. The menu is à la carte, so you are not tied to a single holiday formula when dinner arrives.

Pizza comes from a wood-fired oven, using products associated with Puglian gastronomy. Local specialities include stuffed mussels, anchovy tart, mackerel with orange and the restaurant's own take on fish and chips. Produce from the organic garden also finds its way onto the plate. This is the sort of menu that gives you a reason to eat in rather than merely treating the restaurant as a convenient fallback.

Breakfast is included in the breakfast plan and is served as a buffet, with continental, Italian and gluten-free choices. The spread includes both sweet and savoury items, homemade cakes and focaccia, with at least ten locally sourced products and at least ten certified organic products. A bar is available, and packed lunches can be arranged for days spent exploring the Gargano.

The outdoor pool is the obvious place to take the edges off a busy day. The Paz Pool is surrounded by olive trees, palms and Mediterranean planting, with a separate children's pool also available. There is a sun terrace and plenty of garden space, so the afternoon can be as active or as uneventful as you choose.

A fitness room covers the basic need to move without leaving the property, while the gardens, terraces and outdoor seating give you room to sit with a book or a drink. Families have a shaded play area and outdoor play equipment. Pets have access to dedicated touches too, including a welcome kit and bowls in the room.

The hotel can also turn the surrounding region into something more than a view from the car window. You can join cooking classes focused on making orecchiette, take part in wine or extra-virgin olive-oil tastings, or follow cultural excursions around Vieste, Peschici, the Gargano National Park and local UNESCO sites. Birdwatching around Lake Varano is another option. On selected evenings, picnics in the olive grove come with live folk music, cultural activities and tastings.

By car, the usual approach is via the A14 motorway and the Poggio Imperiale exit, with the hotel positioned for trips towards Vieste and Peschici. Recycling is organised throughout the property, with a dedicated container for used batteries, and single-use plastic has been almost entirely removed.
