Deephumans KAŞ Freediving School

Located in the coastal town of Kaş, Deephumans has been operating since 2014 as a specialist training centre. While they have a presence in several Turkish locations including Kuşadası, Antalya, and Çanakkale, their Kaş base serves as a primary hub for those looking to master the art of breath-hold diving.

The school was founded by Poyraz Akın, a national freediving athlete and metallurgy engineer, which has shaped the centre's technical approach to the sport. It is designed specifically for those looking to move beyond recreational diving into the disciplined world of freediving and professional first aid.

The team is composed of 18 highly qualified professionals. This includes one PADI Freediving Instructor of Instructors, seven PADI Freediving Instructors, and 10 EFR First Aid Instructors.

As the only centre authorised by PADI to provide all levels of freediving and EFR training, the staff is geared towards technical progression. This allows you to move from basic breath-hold skills through to professional instructor-level qualifications under the same guidance.

The centre offers a complete progression of PADI Freediving courses. You can begin with the PADI Freediver course, progress to PADI Advanced Freediver, and work towards the PADI Master Freediver rating.

For those looking to enter the professional ranks, they provide the PADI Freediving Instructor and the PADI Freediving Instructor Transition courses. Additionally, the school is a specialist hub for EFR First Aid Instructor training, providing a comprehensive curriculum for both aquatic and emergency response skills.

Deephumans operates as both a training school and an equipment manufacturer. You can access a wide range of high-quality freediving kit through their own brand, which includes specialised wetsuits, masks, and carbon fins.

Their online shop also serves as a retail outlet for professional-grade freediving equipment, ensuring that students and experienced divers alike have access to gear designed specifically for the demands of breath-hold diving.

The local marine life is diverse, with various predator fish and groupers often found patrolling the reefs. You may also encounter moray eels and giant moray eels amongst the rockwork.

For those with an eye for smaller details, the area supports a variety of cephalopods, including the octopus (Octopoda) and the coconut octopus.

In the open water, you might spot eagle rays (Aetobatus) passing through the area. The ecosystem is supported by a healthy variety of resident species that make the Kaş waters a rewarding place for both freedivers and scuba divers.
