The marine life in Kaş is defined by its diverse habitats, from sandy seagrass meadows to steep rocky walls. You will encounter a variety of large pelagic species, including amberjack, barracuda, and bonitos, often hunting along the currents of the deeper reefs.

On the reefs and walls, groupers, marbled groupers, and dusky groupers are common residents, often found near ledges or wrecks. You can also observe stingrays, eagle rays, and various species of turtles navigating the seabed and seagrass beds.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants add significant detail to the dives, with seahorses, gobies, and various species of shrimp providing interest for attentive divers. The rocky crevices and corals are also home to many species of crabs and small fish like pufferfish.

Fixed life is abundant throughout the region, with colourful colonies of pink anthias, red sponges, and various corals decorating the walls. Neptune's lace and button coral can be found in the darker recesses of caves and canyons.

Conditions in Kaş vary significantly depending on the site. Some locations, such as the south wall of Sariot Island or Camel Reef, are known for strong currents that can be quite powerful.

Other sites, like the tunnel at Cape Çoban, are best visited in the morning to avoid the influence of wind and swell. While many sites offer calm conditions for beginners, others require experienced divers to manage moderate to strong drift currents.
