Kalkan Dive Centre

Located at the Kalamar Beach Club, just 1.5 km from the centre of Kalkan, Kalkan Dive Centre serves as a professional hub for diving in the Antalya region. The centre operates from April to October, providing access to the varied underwater topography of the Turkish Mediterranean.

You can choose between relaxed shore dives in the immediate vicinity of the Kalamar Bay or head out on the water for daily boat trips. The area is defined by its clarity and a diverse range of habitats, including islands, reefs, and steep walls.

As a PADI 5 Star dive centre, the team is managed by a British and Turkish partnership, ensuring a professional approach to both instruction and dive operations. The centre places a strong emphasis on environmental awareness and the maintenance of modern, well-serviced equipment.

Whether you are visiting for a single shore dive or enrolling in a multi-day course, the staff focus on delivering high-quality training and safe, organised dive outings. The centre also facilitates local accommodation through partnerships with several nearby hotels and villas.

The centre offers a complete spectrum of PADI training, starting from the Discover Scuba programme for beginners through to the PADI Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

For those looking to progress their technical skills or professional career, the curriculum includes the PADI Rescue Diver, PADI Enriched Air Specialty, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver courses. The centre also provides training for the PADI Divemaster qualification, as well as specialised skills like Underwater Navigator and Search & Recovery.

The centre operates a custom-built diving boat powered by a 250hp turbo diesel engine, designed to carry up to 10 divers comfortably. The vessel is equipped to handle daily excursions, providing a stable platform for both morning and afternoon dive sessions.

On board, you will find snacks as well as hot and cold drinks to recharge between dives. The boat is also configured for night dives, allowing you to explore the local reefs after sunset. Nitrox is available for use during these trips.

Full equipment hire is available on-site, covering everything required for a complete dive rig. This includes regulators, BCDs, and exposure suits, ensuring you can dive even if you are travelling light.

For those looking to explore the seabed after dark, torches are available for hire. The centre is well-equipped to support both recreational divers and those undergoing formal PADI training.

The local waters are home to a wide variety of large pelagics and reef fish. You can regularly encounter groupers, barracuda, and sea bream, alongside schools of sardines, mackerels, and bonitos. Larger visitors such as turtles, stingrays, and nurse sharks are also part of the local ecosystem.

For those interested in more elusive species, the area supports the presence of octopus, moray eels, and squid. You may even spot dolphins or monk seals cruising through the deeper sections of the bay.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants add significant detail to the reefs, with peacock wrasse, damselfish, and various species of starfish and nudibranchs to observe. Lionfish also frequent the warmer Mediterranean waters.
