Kaş Diving

Located in the coastal town of Kaş, Kaş Diving has been a cornerstone of the local diving community for over two decades. The centre has built a reputation rooted in technical expertise, catering to divers who want to push beyond recreational limits while maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism.

The centre operates primarily through its dedicated wooden dive boat, the Abyss, which allows for daily excursions to more than 30 different sites around the region. From shallow reef flats to more complex underwater environments, the operation is geared towards providing structured, reliable dive days.

The training catalogue is extensive, catering to every level of experience. Beginners can start with Schnuppertauchen (introductory dives), while recreational divers can progress through standard certifications. The centre offers Nitrox courses to extend no-decompression limits.

For those moving into technical territory, the centre provides specialised TDI and IANTD training. This includes Basic Sidemount, TDI Sidemount, and various Tech Diving programmes. They also specialise in closed-circuit rebreather training with the Triton CCR course. Additionally, freediving and VDST TL1 courses are available.

The Abyss is a specially adapted wooden boat designed to carry up to 35 divers comfortably. It features a large solar deck with lounge cushions for relaxation between dives, a kitchen, and two toilets.

For post-dive comfort, the boat is equipped with two hot water showers and a 1500-litre freshwater tank. The vessel is well-organised for divers, with fixed cylinder supports, generous storage compartments, and a reliable 300 CV Cummins turbo engine installed in 2020. Nitrox is available on board, and the boat is equipped with radio communication, oxygen, and first aid equipment.

The centre maintains a high standard of equipment, with 20 sets of new rental kit available for use. For technical divers, specialised equipment is provided to support sidemount and rebreather configurations. The shop also stocks dive computers, torches, and snorkeling gear.

On-site facilities include a technical workshop capable of regulator servicing. For those looking to manage their own kit, the centre provides a professional environment for maintenance and preparation.

The waters around Kaş support a diverse range of marine life. You can regularly observe various species of grouper (Epinephelinae) and moray eels (Muraenidae) patrolling the reefs and rocky structures. Predator fish are also a common sight during many of the daily excursions.

Macro enthusiasts should look for the coconut octopus and other octopus (Octopoda) species hiding in crevices. The area also provides opportunities to spot eagle rays (Aetobatus) cruising the water column.

For those interested in larger pelagics, the region is known for various predator fish that move through the deeper sections of the dive sites.

The diving season in Kaş begins on 25 April. The region is known for its varied topography, offering everything from sheltered areas to sites that may require more experience depending on the day's conditions.
