Drummers Reef, Watamu: Canal dive to an anemone paradise

Your dive at Drummers Reef begins by following a distinctive channel-like path, a gentle introduction as you descend towards the main reef structure. This natural corridor guides you into the heart of the site, gradually revealing the vibrant ecosystem that awaits. As you navigate this initial section, keep an eye out for resident life, preparing for the transition to the more open reef edge.

Upon reaching the reef's edge, the landscape transforms. The maximum depth of 25 metres allows for a comfortable exploration of the reef's contours, with the shallower sections starting at 12 metres. Here, you'll commonly encounter blue-spotted rays (Taeniura lymma) gracefully gliding over the substrate, a consistent presence that adds to the visual richness of the dive. Their distinctive patterns make them easy to spot against the coral backdrop.
