Located in the village of La Restinga on the island of El Hierro, Meridiano Cero provides access to one of the most significant marine reserves in the Canary Islands. The centre is positioned to take advantage of the island's unique volcanic topography and high levels of biodiversity.

The centre operates with an eco-friendly ethos, holding the ECOSUB - Blue Oceans label (Longitude 181). This commitment to the environment is central to their operation within the protected marine reserve, ensuring that explorations of the local reefs and walls are conducted with minimal impact.

The centre is run by Claude and Céline, who are FFESSM federal monitors as well as PADI and SSI instructors. Their multi-agency affiliation allows them to cater to a wide range of certification requirements and training styles.

Explorations are conducted in small groups, ensuring a high level of supervision and a more personal experience on the water. The team is noted for their passion for the local environment and their expertise in the specific conditions of the El Hierro marine reserve.

The centre offers a comprehensive range of training through FFESSM, SSI, and PADI. This includes everything from initial certifications to advanced training.

Beyond standard scuba diving courses, they also provide specialised instruction in underwater photography and video, helping you to document the marine life of the Canary Islands.

The centre utilises a high-performance boat designed to navigate the local waters efficiently. This vessel allows for reliable access to the diverse dive sites surrounding La Restinga.

Meridiano Cero provides a full range of rental kit for divers who do not wish to travel with their own equipment. This includes recent, well-maintained items to ensure reliability during your dives.

The centre's shore-based facilities are designed for comfort, providing a professional base for preparing for trips and rinsing kit after a day on the boat.

The waters around El Hierro are generally temperate, typically ranging between 20°C and 25°C. The local marine reserve provides a protected environment for much of the island's diverse underwater life.
