OOLAA Trendy Accommodation

Set in the quieter heart of Santa Maria, OOLAA Trendy Accommodation is a recently opened aparthotel, welcoming guests since 2025. The feel is more residential than resort-like: you have an apartment with a kitchen, dining area and balcony or terrace, rather than a standard room where every belonging has to find a place by magic.

This suits you if you prefer to arrange your days freely, cook something simple or keep flexible hours between dives and other outings. A small gym, a sunny terrace and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel complete the practical set-up.

You will find the property on Rua do Violão in Santa Maria, on the island of Sal, Cape Verde. Praia de Santa Maria is about a five-minute walk away, roughly 600 m. You stay close to the sand without sleeping directly on the seafront.

The neighbourhood has the everyday services you are likely to need, including supermarkets, small restaurants, a police station and Santa Maria hospital. For eating out, Marea Restaurant is about 200 m away, Bar Golfinho de Dona Regina is about 200 m away and Restaurant-Kaya is about 300 m away.

Walk a little further and you can reach Funana Casa da Cultura in about 1 km. Viveiro, Botanical Garden & Zoo di Terra is about 2.5 km away. Santa Maria is still developing, with occasional building work that may bring some noise in certain areas.

The main choice is between a studio and an apartment. If you are a couple who prefers to keep sleeping and living areas separate, the one-bedroom apartment is the more obvious option. If you are travelling as two people with different sleeping habits, the studios with two separate beds also avoid the usual “I promise I won’t move” discussion.

The studios with terraces have a large bed and are better suited to couples who want outdoor space for a coffee or some evening air. The studio with a sofa bed gives you a larger living area while still accommodating two people. Every unit has a private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen.

You will find a fridge, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, crockery and dining table. The fridge is handy for keeping water cold after the beach, while air conditioning helps you cool down after a hot day. A fan, wardrobe, drying rack and private entrance are also provided. Balconies or terraces face a quiet street.

Here, meals start in your own apartment. Every unit has an equipped kitchen and dining area, whether you want coffee after waking up, a quick snack before heading out or a simple dinner when you cannot face looking for a table after a long day outside. The coffee machine and kettle save you from turning the first task of the morning into an expedition.

If you want to eat out, several places are close by. Marea Restaurant is about 200 m away, Bar Golfinho de Dona Regina about 200 m and Restaurant-Kaya about 300 m. Ocean Café and Bons Amigos are about 650 m away on foot, while Funana Casa da Cultura, also counted among the nearby bars and cultural venues, is about 1 km away.

A self-service laundry with washing and drying machines is available on site, which is useful when sand has found its way into your belongings and you need to keep your luggage under control.

Amílcar Cabral International Airport is about 17 km away, with a drive of around fifteen minutes. The property offers an airport shuttle, which you arrange with the hotel. Free public parking is available on site and does not require booking.

Check-in is from 15:00 to 23:00. You need to provide your arrival time and show photo identification and a bank card when checking in. Check-out is available at any time.

The reception desk is open twenty-four hours a day. Luggage storage and a concierge service help with early arrivals, late departures and days when your flight timetable does not match yours. Daily housekeeping and laundry are available, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
