The setting works particularly well if your idea of a good evening is a swim, a meal on a terrace, or a quiet drink before bed. You have a garden, outdoor seating, a beach within easy reach and the Lézarde waterfall nearby. It is the sort of base that lets you mix diving with Guadeloupe’s inland scenery instead of treating the island as a hotel corridor with excursions attached.

Couples have the privacy of their own terrace, while families and groups can choose accommodation with more room to spread out. The atmosphere is relaxed rather than formal: comfortable clothing, practical plans and plenty of time outdoors.

The guesthouse sits in Vernou, Petit-Bourg, on the Basse-Terre side of Guadeloupe. The sea is about 50 metres away, with a golden-sand beach, sun loungers and parasols. A few steps from your room and you can be by the water; useful when the day calls for something less organised than a boat departure.

Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet Airport is roughly 12 miles away by road, around a 23-minute drive. Le Gosier is 11 miles away, Sainte-Anne about 19 miles, and the centre of Petit-Bourg is around 9 miles from the property. A hire car is available through the guesthouse, which makes sense here: several of the island’s useful stops are spread out rather than gathered around the front door.

For a change of scenery, Saut de la Lézarde is about 350 metres away. Domaine de Valombreuse is roughly 2 miles from the guesthouse, while the nearest named restaurant outside the property is around 4 miles away. Les Bières de la Lézarde, a nearby bar, is about 350 metres away by road.

Every room has air conditioning, a terrace and a coffee machine, with a wardrobe for the clothes that have survived the day’s salt, sun and general abuse. Garden views are part of the picture, and some units also look over the pool. The terrace gives you somewhere to sit with a coffee before breakfast or to let the evening slow down without having to find a bar.

For two, a Double Room keeps things simple. If you are travelling with children or another diver, the Family Room with Bathroom, Triple Room or Large Double Room gives you more flexibility, while the One-Bedroom Chalet offers a more independent arrangement. The Villa is the practical choice for a larger group, with two bathrooms and enough room to make communal living workable rather than a daily exercise in furniture negotiation.

Some accommodation includes a kitchen with a hob, microwave, refrigerator and kitchenware. That matters when you want cold drinks ready after a hot day, or when a full restaurant meal is not quite what you need. Private bathrooms, towels and linen are provided, and ground-floor units are available. Free WiFi, non-smoking rooms and a dining area round off the useful details.

Restaurant de la Lézarde serves local food on a terrace, with a relaxed dress code and dishes prepared using fresh market produce. Breakfast is continental and included, starting at 07:00, which is a civilised time for divers who need coffee before thinking about the sea. Lunch runs from 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner from 19:00 to 22:00.

Two restaurants are available on site, alongside a bar and a coffee house. The named restaurant is the useful part of the arrangement: you can eat locally without turning every evening into a car journey, and the terrace keeps the meal connected to the warm Guadeloupean air rather than sealing you indoors.

A packed meal is available for days when diving or exploring takes you away from the table. The accommodation is otherwise arranged on a room-only basis, so you retain some freedom over lunch and dinner while still having breakfast ready for an early start. Kitchens in some units add another option for simple food, chilled supplies and the occasional dinner assembled with less ceremony than appetite usually requires.

The outdoor swimming pool gives you an easy place to cool down without going anywhere. Around it, the garden, sun terrace, outdoor furniture and picnic area are made for the important post-dive skill of sitting still. Barbecue facilities add another low-key option when you would rather eat outside than dress for dinner.

The beach is only 50 metres away, with golden sand, loungers and parasols. You can also make use of the available kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling and boat excursions, with equipment hire available. These are useful alternatives for a non-diving day, or for the partner who wants to get on the water without committing to a full scuba schedule.

On land, the guesthouse is well placed for cycling, hiking, wildlife observation and cultural outings. Visits to the Cousteau Reserve and walks in the tropical forest are among the excursions offered. For a slower afternoon, massage and wellness treatments are available, including back, neck, foot, head, hand and full-body massage, along with body treatments, beauty services and an outdoor bath.

Free private parking is available on site, and a hire-car service makes it easier to reach dive centres, beaches and inland sights. An airport shuttle service is available from Pointe-à-Pitre Le Raizet Airport; arrange it with the property before arrival. Luggage storage, concierge assistance, a reception safe, laundry and daily housekeeping are also available, with daily housekeeping carrying an additional charge.

Check-in is organised from 14:00, with the booking policy giving an arrival window of 16:00 to 20:00. Check-out falls between 08:00 and 12:00. Tell the property your expected arrival time, and have photo identification and a payment card ready at check-in. The minimum age for check-in is 18.
