Ecole De Plongee Bleu Passion Guadeloupe

Bleu Passion is situated in Bouillante, positioned directly facing the Réserve Cousteau within the Guadeloupe National Park. Its location in the ZAC Les Ilets de Pigeon puts you at the doorstep of some of the most significant marine protected areas in the French Antilles.

The centre operates with a focus on small groups, limiting boat departures to a maximum of 10 divers. This approach allows for longer dive rotations, with bottom times typically ranging between 60 and 80 minutes, providing more time to explore the reef and wrecks than many larger operations.

The instructional team consists of three French State-certified instructors who also hold international certifications. As an SSI Diamond Dive Center and an Instructor Training Center, the school is equipped to handle high-level training requirements.

They manage a wide range of divers, from children as young as six through to professional candidates. The centre recognises certifications from all major international diving organisations, making it a reliable base for visiting divers.

Safety is managed through the SSI BlueOceans charter, reflecting an environmental commitment to the local ecosystem. The staff operates primarily in French.

As an SSI Diamond Dive Center, the school offers a comprehensive syllabus ranging from the Basic Diver and Open Water Diver levels to professional pathways such as Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and Instructor Training Courses.

Speciality training is extensive, covering Deep Diver, Wreck Diving, Advanced Wreck Diving, and Navigation. They also offer Perfect Buoyancy and Diver Stress and Rescue to refine technical skills. For those looking to move into professional roles, the centre provides the complete DivePro and Instructor training track.

Specific packages are available for multiple specialties, and the Nitrox specialty is included with certain Open Water Diver programmes.

The centre operates a 7m Carolina Skiff powered by a Suzuki 4-stroke engine. This vessel has a capacity of 10 divers per trip.

Onboard, you will find refreshments provided during the trips. For morning double-dive outings during the low season, breakfast is served on the boat.

The centre provides full equipment hire using modern, well-maintained Scubapro kit, which is renewed annually. This includes all the essential components needed for a comfortable dive.

Nitrox is available for use, and the centre is equipped with oxygen safety kits on-site. While they do not list specific compressor brands, the facility is set up to support decompression diving through their Nitrox offerings.

The reefs are home to a diverse array of tropical fish, including surgeonfish, jacks, french angelfish, and spotted sweetlips. You can often spot various species of tropical fish moving through the coral structures.

The hard coral landscape is defined by fire coral, staghorn coral, and elkhorn coral, alongside various tube sponges and barrel sponges. These structures provide the essential habitat for the local marine life.

Large residents include green moray eels and nurse sharks. You may also encounter green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles patrolling the reef.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants include seahorses, spiny lobsters, and various species of tropical fish. Look closely among the reef structures to find surgeonfish and other colourful residents.

The centre operates on a seasonal schedule, with high season running from 15 December to 31 May. During this period, they offer morning and afternoon dive slots.

In the low season, from 1 June to 14 December, the centre operates from Monday to Friday and focuses on morning double-dive outings.
