Le Nautile is a four-star beachfront hotel in Saint-Gilles les Bains, with gardens, terraces and private beach access.

The mood is straightforward and useful for a diving break: a balcony, air conditioning, a minibar and room service for the return from the water; a restaurant and bar when the appetite arrives; and a 24-hour front desk for arrivals that do not quite respect office hours. Balconies open towards the garden or Indian Ocean, and some rooms look over the pool. Air conditioning matters when the day has been spent in heat and salt; the minibar matters when you come back wanting cold water rather than a conversation. The restaurant works with Creole and French dishes, which is the right sort of combination for Réunion: local character without asking you to abandon familiar bearings altogether.
