Enfola Diving Center

Enfola Diving Center, also known as Mandel Diving Center, is situated right on the beach within the Camping Enfola and Mandel Club area in Portoferraio. This strategic position allows you to reach the most significant dive sites of the Elbe island and the nearby Pianosa in just a few minutes of navigation.

As an SSI Diamond Center, the facility is built around reliability and convenience. Whether you are arriving via ferry or staying at the adjacent residence, the centre provides shuttle services and assistance with local transport to ensure your arrival is seamless.

The team consists of 7 qualified instructors capable of guiding you through a wide range of certifications. They are multilingual, providing instruction and guidance in Italian, English, Spanish, and German, making it easy to communicate technical details or dive plans.

The centre caters to all age groups, offering dedicated programmes for children aged 8 to 10, including Seal Team and specific kids' courses. For those looking to progress their skills, they offer everything from basic entry-level training to advanced professional courses like Dive Master and Assistant Instructor.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering the full spectrum of SSI and CMAS certifications. You can start with Discover Scuba Diving or work through the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver levels. More specialised training is available for those looking to refine their skills, including Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep Diver, and Dry Suit courses.

For those moving into professional or technical directions, the centre offers Dive Master, Assistant Instructor, and Open Water Scuba Instructor programmes. Technical diving training is also available, alongside specialised courses such as Nitrox Diver and Underwater Naturalist.

The fleet includes a 13m former fishing vessel constructed from glass resin, powered by an AIFO 220Hp engine, which serves as a stable platform for larger groups. For smaller trips or different conditions, they also operate an 8.5m inflatable boat and a 7.5m semi-rigid vessel, both powered by Suzuki 250Hp engines.

With a total capacity of 17 divers, the boats are well-equipped for full-day excursions. On board, you will find a kitchen, bathroom, and facilities to provide snacks and drinks during your trips. The centre also organises night dives and long-distance trips, such as liveaboard cruises to the Maldives.

The centre provides full kit hire using high-quality, recently renewed equipment from SEAC and AQUALUNG. This includes everything you need for a complete setup, from regulators to exposure protection.

On-site facilities are designed for diver comfort, featuring dedicated areas for rinsing and storing your equipment. You have access to free hot showers and a comfortable rest area to relax between dives. Nitrox is available for those looking to extend their bottom time.

The marine life in this protected area is remarkably abundant. You will regularly encounter large schools of reef fish, eagle rays, stingrays, and groupers. Larger pelagics such as grey sharks, nurse sharks, and manta rays are also part of the local ecosystem.

The underwater scenery is defined by colourful reefs and walls covered in soft corals and hard coral. You can also find pinna bianca and various species of nudibranchs adding colour to the seascape.

For macro enthusiasts, the area hosts a variety of shrimps and other small crustaceans. The biodiversity is supported by the protected status of the Pianosa marine park, ensuring a healthy habitat for these species.

The centre uses three different embarkation points to guarantee diving sessions, allowing the team to adapt to local weather and sea conditions. This flexibility is essential for navigating the waters around Portoferraio effectively.
