Tokoriki Diving

Tokoriki Diving is a boutique PADI 5 Star centre situated directly on the waterfront of the Tokoriki Island Resort in the Mamanuca Islands. Established in 1998 by owners Will and Alex, the centre has built a reputation for high-quality, personalised service and a perfect safety record.

The operation is designed for divers who prefer a more tailored approach to their underwater adventures. Rather than large, impersonal groups, the centre focuses on small ratios to ensure every diver receives individual attention while exploring the local reef systems.

The team consists of four experienced PADI instructors and local boat captains who possess an intimate knowledge of the surrounding waters and local currents. This local expertise is central to the centre's approach, ensuring that dive sites are selected based on the best possible conditions for the group.

As a Green Fins member, the centre is deeply committed to marine conservation. They host the Giant Clam Project, which includes the largest collection of mature Tridacna gigas in Fiji, integrating environmental stewardship directly into the diving experience.

The centre provides a comprehensive range of PADI training programmes for all levels. Beginners can start with the Discover Scuba Diving programme or work through the PADI Scuba Diver and PADI Open Water Diver courses.

For more experienced divers, the centre offers advanced training including the PADI Advanced Open Water Course, PADI Deep Diver Specialty, and PADI Underwater Navigation Specialty. They also provide Peak Performance Buoyancy, Multilevel and Computer Diving, and specialty training for Wreck and Night diving. Specialized courses such as Fish Identification and Underwater Naturalist are also available to deepen your understanding of the local ecosystem.

The centre operates custom-designed boats with a capacity for 10 divers plus the crew. These vessels are used for guided dives, island adventures, and night dives, providing a stable platform for exploring the Mamanuca reefs.

On board, you will find freshwater for rinsing and towels provided for your convenience. The boats are used for various trip types, including morning, midday, and afternoon departures.

Full rental kit is available on-site for those not travelling with their own equipment. This includes BCDs, regulators, dive computers, wetsuits, fins, and masks.

For those planning to explore the reefs after dark, torches are available for hire. The centre is located right by the jetty at the resort, making access to the facilities straightforward.

The local reefs are characterised by healthy hard corals and a variety of larger marine life. You can regularly encounter turtles, rays, and sharks during your dives.

A notable feature of the area is the Giant Clam Project, where you can observe mature Tridacna gigas in their natural habitat.

Beyond the larger animals, the reef supports a diverse ecosystem that is a highlight for many divers visiting the Mamanucas.

The best time to dive in this region is during the dry season from May to October. During these months, you can expect warmer days, cooler nights, and lower humidity, which often results in excellent water clarity.

The wet season runs from November to April, bringing warmer days and nights along with higher humidity. While the sea is generally calm during this period, occasional tropical storms or cyclones can occur. The team's knowledge of local currents is used to navigate these conditions safely during every trip.
