Blue Caledonia Diving is a dedicated scuba and freediving centre located in Noumea, New Caledonia. Based at the Port du Sud marina, the centre provides access to some of the region's most significant marine environments, including the coral structures around Îlot Amédée and the dynamic waters of the Boulari Pass.

The operation is built around a dual focus on exploration diving and the art of apnea. Whether you are looking for a guided day of reef exploration or seeking to develop your breath-hold capabilities through the Blue Caledonia Freediving school, the centre provides a structured and professional environment for both disciplines.

The centre is under the technical direction of Pierre Crubillé, a former freediving world vice-champion with over 15 years of experience in the water. This high level of expertise informs the centre's approach to both scuba and apnea, ensuring that instruction is grounded in professional standards.

All activities are led by state-qualified professionals. For those returning to the water after a hiatus, the centre provides mandatory technical adaptation diving for Level 1 divers who have not dived for more than a year, ensuring safety and proficiency before heading out to sea.

Blue Caledonia Diving is an SSI affiliated centre, offering a comprehensive range of training. This includes introductory sessions for those looking to try diving for the first time, as well as exploration diving for those looking to build their experience.

The centre also runs the Blue Caledonia Freediving school, which provides training in apnea ranging from discovery sessions to advanced training and exploration. For divers requiring specific skill updates, technical adaptation courses are available to ensure competency for those returning to the water.

The PICTILIS is the centre's 15.50m flagship vessel, designed to provide a comfortable platform for full-day excursions. The boat is spacious and built to protect divers from swell, ensuring a stable environment even when moving between sites.

On board, you will find facilities including a freshwater shower with both hot and cold water, as well as onboard toilets. The vessel is well-equipped for day trips, offering a comfortable base for relaxation between dives.

The centre's base at the Port du Sud marina provides essential facilities for divers. For those who prefer to travel light, a selection of kit is available for hire, including fins, masks, snorkels, and shorty wetsuits.

Beyond scuba diving, the centre also provides equipment for surface activities such as Stand Up Paddle and kayaking, allowing for a varied experience on the water.

The waters around Noumea are home to significant pelagic life, with whales regularly visiting the area. You may also encounter eagle rays (Aetobatus) and various species of sharks, including grey reef sharks (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos) and whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus).

The reef ecosystems support a high density of fish, including humphead wrasses, giant groupers, and various trevally. You will frequently see surgeonfish (Acanthuridae) and goatfish navigating the reef structures.

For those interested in macro life, the area hosts a variety of nudibranchs, such as Chromodoris willani, alongside moray eels (Muraenidae) and sea turtles (Cheloniidae) that frequent the passages.

The centre operates primarily through drift diving in the Boulari Pass, where currents are a key feature of the dive experience. A dedicated captain remains on surface watch at all times to ensure safety during these dives.
