The constant movement of the Gulf Stream makes this a premier destination for drift diving. You can expect to glide effortlessly along reef systems and through wreck structures, making the most of your air consumption while observing a high density of marine life.

The centre is led by Brad Engel, a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and SSI Instructor who has been diving these waters since the late 1980s. His approach is built on decades of real-world experience, moving from a demanding professional career to a full-time focus on ocean exploration.

Under his direction, the team operates with a focus on small groups and professional standards. This ensures that whether you are a student completing your first certification or an experienced diver pursuing technical specialties, you receive attentive guidance from the moment you arrive at the dock.

The training programme covers the entire spectrum of scuba diving, from entry-level courses like Discover Scuba Diving and Scuba Diver to full PADI and SSI certifications such as Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water.

For those looking to progress into technical or specialised territory, the centre offers Extended Range, Deep Diving, and Advanced Wreck Diving. You can also specialise in skills like Perfect Buoyancy, Navigation, and Night & Limited Visibility, or explore niche interests through Photo & Video and Search & Recovery training.

The centre operates a USCG-inspected vessel with a capacity for 18 divers. The boat is well-equipped for day trips, featuring a freshwater shower, toilets, and a dedicated space for snacks and cold drinks to keep you refreshed between dives.

Charters are available for morning, afternoon, and night dives, as well as private bookings for groups. Nitrox is available on board to extend your bottom time on the local reefs and wrecks.

Aqualife Divers provides full equipment hire, covering everything from standard recreational kit to specialised technical diving gear. This makes it a reliable base for divers travelling without their own heavy kit.

For those looking to extend their training, the centre offers Nitrox certification alongside two-tank dive packages. Weights are included as part of the service, and the facility includes convenient amenities for preparing for your dives.

The reefs are teeming with a variety of large pelagics and reef dwellers. You can regularly encounter Great barracuda, Jacks, and Caribbean reef sharks, alongside Queen Angelfish and various other tropical fish species.

Macro life and crustaceans are abundant throughout the dive sites. Keep an eye out for lobster and Triggerfish hiding within the reef structures or near the wrecks.

The seabed and reef edges are heavily colonised by fixed life, including a wide array of sponges and gorgonians. These corals and invertebrates create the complex habitats that support the local Bermuda chub and diverse reef fish populations.

The Gulf Stream provides a constant current through the area, which is the primary driver for the excellent drift diving conditions found near Pompano Beach. This allows divers to move along the reef systems with minimal effort.

While the waters are generally warm, the presence of the current means that conditions are best suited to those comfortable with drift diving techniques.
