Tiger Fish Divers

Tiger Fish Divers is located in Hoi An, serving as a gateway to the Cham Island archipelago. This group of eight islands is a designated UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and has been recognised as Vietnam's first plastic-free destination since 2011. The area is defined by its commitment to marine protection and the presence of established artificial coral reefs.

The centre operates primarily out of the Cham Island area, offering both fun dives for certified divers and introductory experiences for those looking to try the water for the first time. The focus here is on a balance of efficient transit and a relaxed diving atmosphere, ensuring you spend more time on the reef and less time in transit.

The team is led by a PADI IDC Staff Instructor with over 12,000 dives logged, ensuring a high level of expertise across all training programmes. You will be supported by a local PADI Divemaster and a PADI Rescue Diver, providing a professional environment for both recreational and training dives.

Safety and instruction are managed with a strict ratio of one guide for every four divers. The crew includes a captain originally from Cham Island, which brings invaluable local knowledge of the waters and conditions. The staff communicates in both English and Vietnamese, making the centre accessible to international divers.

Tiger Fish Divers offers a comprehensive range of PADI training, catering to everyone from absolute beginners to professional candidates. You can start with the Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses before progressing through the Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver certifications.

For those looking to pursue a career in diving, the centre provides Divemaster training and the IDC Staff Instructor course. This allows you to move from recreational diving into professional instruction within a structured PADI environment.

The centre's primary vessel is a large catamaran, measuring 16.22m by 5.06m, which is the first of its kind operating in the region. It is designed to provide a fast crossing to the islands while maintaining a slow, steady pace once you reach the dive sites. The boat has a total capacity for 40 guests and crew.

On board, you will find a dedicated dive-deck and a sundeck for relaxing between dives, alongside comfortable seating and a modern navigation system. For your convenience, the catamaran is equipped with a changing room, toilets, and a freshwater shower to rinse off after your sessions.

The reefs around Cham Island are teeming with life, including various species of angelfish, butterflyfish, and parrotfish. You will often see larger pelagic visitors such as barracuda and grouper patrolling the area, alongside moorish idols and boxfish.

In the coral gardens, look for more colourful inhabitants like the harlequin sweetlips, clownfish, and various species of nudibranchs. Moray eels and turtles are also frequently spotted amongst the reef structures.

Macro enthusiasts will find plenty to observe, including shrimp, crabs, and seahorses. Keep a close eye on the seabed and reef crevices for ghost pipefish and various species of nudibranchs.

The best time to visit the region is from February to the end of September. Between June and September, you can expect the best water temperatures and visibility.

It is generally advised to avoid diving from October to the end of January, as this is the rainy season which brings rougher seas and significantly reduced visibility.
