The marine life around Lanzarote is defined by the dramatic volcanic landscape. Large schools of sardines, barracuda, and amberjack are frequently seen patrolling the blue or hovering near the reef structures.

In the shallower bays and sandy areas, look for angelsharks, various rays, and octopuses. The volcanic rocks provide excellent habitats for crustaceans such as lobsters, crabs, and shrimp, as well as anemones and sea urchins. You may also encounter seahorses and cuttlefish in the more sheltered spots.

Some sites, such as Punta de la Pared or Puerto Moro, require a more adventurous approach due to the necessity of navigating through rock formations or managing specific entry and exit points. These sites are better suited to experienced or well-trained divers who are comfortable with technical entries and exits.
