Located in the heart of the Marina de Lagos, WeDive serves as a gateway to the varied marine environments of the Algarve. The region provides a unique mix of underwater topography, ranging from shallow sandy areas suitable for training to significant wreck sites and dramatic coastal walls.

The local waters are characterised by a high density of shipwrecks and interesting geological formations. You can choose between exploring the historical artefacts near Ponta da Piedade or heading out to deeper sites like the Ocean Revival wrecks, depending on your experience level and certification.

WeDive operates with a multicultural team of instructors, providing training and guidance through PADI, SSI, and TDI affiliations. This diversity allows for a professional environment that caters to a wide range of backgrounds and skill levels.

The centre is also a DAN affiliated facility, ensuring that safety and first aid standards are integrated into their operations. They offer a full spectrum of training, from introductory courses to advanced technical programmes and professional development.

The training catalogue is extensive, covering every stage of a diver's progression. Beginners can start with Open Water Diver courses, while those looking to expand their skills can pursue Advanced Open Water, Deep Diving, or specialty courses such as Navigation, Wreck Diving, and Night & Limited Visibility.

For technical divers, the centre offers TDI Technical diving, Nitrox 40, and Rebreather Programs. They also provide professional training pathways, including Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, and the Instructor Training Course (ITC). Beyond core diving, they offer specialised skills training like Perfect Buoyancy, Search & Recovery, and even DAN First Aid courses.

The centre is equipped to support both recreational and technical divers. Nitrox is available for use, and the facility is set up to support rebreather diving, making it a viable base for technical expeditions.

For those who prefer not to carry their own kit, a range of equipment is available for hire. This includes regulators, wetsuits, and fins, ensuring you have the necessary kit to dive the local sites comfortably.

The rocky walls and reefs of the Algarve are home to a variety of larger species. You can often spot moray eels (Muraenidae) tucked into crevices or large sea bass patrolling the water column. The rock faces also host various crustaceans and sea urchins.

Macro life is abundant around the various formations and wrecks. Divers should keep a close eye on the seabed and rock faces for octopus (Octopus vulgaris), cuttlefish (Sepiidae), and various species of scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae).

In the smaller habitats, such as the caves and rocky overhangs, you will find lobster (Homaridae) and various small fish species. The diverse terrain provides plenty of shelter for these creatures, making a torch an essential piece of kit for spotting them.

The diving in Lagos offers a range of environments, from shallow, calm areas like Canavial, which is ideal for beginners, to more exposed sites. The topography includes canyons, walls, and wreck sites that can vary in complexity depending on the swell and local conditions.
