Since 1996, Blue Ocean Divers has been a fixture of the Algarve diving scene, sharing the Atlantic's characteristics with the diving community. Located at the Luz Bay Club in Vila da Luz, the centre is ideally positioned to access the varied underwater landscapes of the region.

For those who prefer not to carry their own heavy kit, full rental options are available. This includes 6mm wetsuits with hoods, boots, and gloves, as well as buoyancy compensators and masks.

The local marine life is diverse, with a variety of species inhabiting the reefs and rocky structures. You will encounter octopus, cuttlefish, and squid, alongside various species of fish and eels.

For those with an eye for detail, the area is excellent for spotting macro life. Look for seahorses, nudibranchs, scorpionfish, and various crustaceans.

Other common inhabitants include sea cucumbers and various species of crustaceans that thrive in the Atlantic waters.

Diving conditions in the area are highly dependent on the local wind and swell. The centre adapts its location between the south and west coasts to find the most suitable conditions for the day.

The best time to dive in this region is from April to October.
