The marine life around Dominica is diverse, featuring a variety of pelagic species and reef inhabitants. You can often observe Tuna (Thunnus), wahoo, and rainbow runners moving through the water column, alongside bighead jacks and bar jacks.

On the reef, look for yellowtail snappers, creole wrasses, and blue chromis. The ecosystem is well-populated by soldierfish, grunts, and brown chromis, while great barracuda (Sphyraena barracuda) are a notable presence for those watching the larger structures.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants add significant interest to the dives. You may encounter Seahorse (Hippocampus kuda), Frogfish (Antennarius), and various species of scorpionfish. Cleaner shrimp (Lysmata) are often found in cleaning stations, and you can spot yellowhead gobies, yellowhead jawfish, and crabs (Brachyura) amongst the reef architecture.

Invertebrates and other residents include Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus), lobsters (Homaridae), and squid (Sepioteuthis sepioidea). Crinoids and various other reef dwellers provide a constant sense of movement and colour throughout the dive.
