The seabed and reef structures are adorned with gorgonians and various types of sponge. Green sea turtles are also a regular presence in these waters, alongside schools of needlefish.

The waters around Bayahibe are generally calmer than those found on the Atlantic coast of Punta Cana, providing a more stable environment for diving.
