Eden Plongee

Eden Plongée is situated in Port-Louis, positioned within the sheltered waters of the Grand Cul de Sac Marin in Guadeloupe. Established in 2002, the centre has become a cornerstone of the local diving community, known for its focus on the delicate ecosystems of the region.

The centre operates with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship. As a member of the Guadeloupe Marine Turtle Network and a participant in the InaScuba programme, the team integrates conservation into the diving experience, monitoring nesting sites on the beaches of North Grande Terre.

The team is composed of instructors who serve as eco-volunteers for sea turtle protection. Many are specialists in marine biology, offering a level of ecological insight that goes beyond standard recreational diving.

Beyond standard exploration, the centre provides specialised training in marine biology and underwater photography. Their expertise is recognised through 'Esprit Parc National Guadeloupe' labelled biology courses, making it an ideal choice for divers looking to deepen their understanding of the reef.

Eden Plongée offers a comprehensive range of certifications through both PADI and FFESSM frameworks. You can begin your journey with a Discovery Pack (PE12) or Scuba Diver course, progressing through to PADI Open Water Diver and advanced levels.

For those following the French FFESSM system, the centre provides instruction for Niveau 1, Niveau 2, and Niveau 3. Specialist training is also available, including Nitrox certification, underwater photography, marine biology, and freediving (Apnée) via AIDA.

The centre is equipped to support various diving needs, providing Nitrox for divers looking to extend their bottom time. For those travelling light, a range of rental equipment is available to cover your requirements for a dive.

Training is supported by both theoretical instruction and the use of PADI eLearning, allowing you to complete your studies at your own pace before arriving on site.

The reefs are characterised by a rich tapestry of fixed life, including various coral species such as brain coral, meandering coral, and star coral. You will find a diverse array of gorgonians, sponges, and various forms of Acropora decorating the seascape.

Macro life is abundant for those with an eye for detail. The area is home to seahorses, various species of molluscs, octopuses, and many types of crustaceans, including lobsters and crabs. You may also encounter nudibranchs and various species of shrimp.

Large pelagics and charismatic species are a regular highlight. You can observe various sea turtles, including Hawksbill turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) from May to September, Green sea turtles from July to November, and Leatherback turtles from March to July. Bottlenose dolphins and Steno's dolphins are also known to frequent these waters.

Fish life is incredibly diverse, ranging from pufferfish and boxfish to moray eels and various species of rays. You will regularly encounter parrotfish, trumpetfish, and various species of wrasse and damselfish amongst the reef structures.

The diving environment is generally sheltered within the Grand Cul de Sac Marin, with water temperatures typically starting around 25°C. The area is ideal for those looking to explore diverse habitats including arches, caves, and tunnels.
