Jmm - Destination Plongee

Located on the Petite Anse beach in Bouillante, Destination Plongée Guadeloupe provides access to the diverse underwater landscapes of the Côte Sous-le-Vent. The centre has been operating since 2010, offering a base for divers looking to explore the volcanic terrain and coral-covered slopes of the region.

By operating outside the boundaries of the National Park, the centre accesses specific sites that remain well-preserved and less frequented by large-scale tourism. This allows for a more intimate experience on the water, focusing on the rich biodiversity of the local reefs and rocky outcrops.

The centre is run by Jérémie and his team, who maintain a small-scale operation to ensure a personal atmosphere. All dives are led by state-qualified instructors, ensuring professional guidance for both beginners and experienced divers.

To maintain a high standard of safety and instruction, the centre limits boat departures to a maximum of eight people. This small group size allows for better control during guided explorations and more attentive supervision during introductory sessions.

The training programme covers a wide spectrum of certifications, ranging from initial introductory dives and children's baptêmes to advanced levels. For those looking to progress through the standard progression, the centre offers Niveau 1, Niveau 2, and Niveau 3 courses.

Technical and specialised training is also available, including PE 12, PE 40, and RIFAP. For divers looking to refine their skills or prepare for more advanced environments, the centre provides 'Plongée Refresh' sessions and Bathysmed training.

The dive boat carries a maximum of eight passengers, ensuring that the experience remains intimate and manageable. The centre operates two daily departures, typically scheduled for the morning and afternoon sessions.

The centre provides a full range of rental equipment for divers who do not wish to carry their own kit. This includes regulators, BCDs, wetsuits, fins, and masks.

On-site facilities include free parking directly in front of the centre and the boat mooring. The location on Petite Anse beach also offers easy access to local dining and a family-friendly beach environment.

The reefs are characterised by a vibrant array of fixed life, including various sponges, sea fans, and colourful corals. The volcanic terrain, particularly around sites like Thomas, provides an ideal substrate for gorgonians and diverse coral formations.

In the sandy areas and rocky crevices, you will find a variety of crustaceans, including spiny lobsters. The presence of rays and various species of fish is a regular feature of the local reefs.

Macro life and larger residents are a highlight of the area, with sea turtles often seen on the gentle coral slopes of L'Ilet Christophe and Le Souffleur. Divers can also encounter various species of fish and sponges throughout the different dive sites.

The dive sites vary from shallow reef flats to deeper wreck sites and canyons. The topography includes gentle slopes, lava flows, and rocky tongues, which can influence local water movement.
