Alpha Plongee Martinique

The centre operates daily, providing a base for both local divers and those staying in their on-site apartment accommodation. It is a practical choice for those looking to combine their diving with a stay in the Anses-d'Arlet area.

The team at Alpha Plongée operates with a focus on small groups and professional instruction. They are PADI affiliated and offer training in both English and French, making them accessible to an international range of divers.

The facility is located on a pedestrian street near the beach and is accessible to people with reduced mobility, though please note that boarding the boat is conducted via the beach and sea.

The reefs are vibrant with life, featuring a diverse array of corals, sponges, and tube worms. You will frequently encounter hawksbill turtles, sea turtles, and various species of moray eels.

In the open water and near the drop-offs, look for large schools of fish including bigeye trevally, Spanish mackerel, and barracuda. You may also spot groupers, snappers, and various species of wrasse and sergeant majors.

Macro life is abundant throughout the sites, with many crustaceans to observe. Keep an eye out for lobsters, crabs, and various types of shrimp, including Thor shrimp and Pederson shrimp, tucked away in the anemones.

Between December and June, the area offers the opportunity to see humpback whales. During your dives, you might also find frogfish camouflaged against the reef or various species of sea urchins and molluscs.

Diving conditions vary significantly depending on the chosen site. Some locations, such as The Colourful Cave, are sheltered and offer zero current, making them ideal for beginners. Other sites, like the Jorasses or Jardins de Salomon, are more exposed and may involve drift diving in present currents.

Experienced divers can take advantage of the more technical sites, but always be prepared for varying conditions when heading out to the offshore reefs.
