Scuba Blue Dream

Located in the heart of Ancient Epidavros, Scuba Blue Dream provides a boutique diving experience in the Peloponnese. Since 2019, the centre has operated as a small, family-run SSI dive centre, catering to both those looking to take their first breaths underwater and experienced divers seeking the varied topography of the Greek coast.

The area offers a diverse range of underwater environments, from sheltered bays suitable for beginners to dramatic walls and volcanic plateaus. Whether you are exploring the remains of ancient structures or searching for large groupers in deep crevasses, the local sites provide a high degree of variety within a relatively short distance from the shore.

The centre is run by James and Vicky, two SSI Open Water instructors from the UK. Their approach is built on personalised attention, ensuring that every diver feels supported regardless of their experience level.

Instruction is kept intimate to maintain high safety standards. For those attempting a Try Scuba Dive, sessions are conducted on a 1-to-1 basis. Open Water courses are taught with a maximum of two students per instructor, and even for standard Fun Dives, the ratio is strictly limited to a maximum of six divers accompanied by two staff members.

Scuba Blue Dream offers a range of SSI certifications. Beginners can start with a Try Scuba Dive or work through the full Open Water Course to achieve their first qualification.

For those looking to progress their skills, the centre provides the training necessary to move from entry-level diving into more advanced underwater exploration.

The centre operates a boat with a capacity for 6 divers and 2 staff members. For those on double dives, snacks and water are provided on board to keep you fuelled between descents.

Full rental kit is available on-site for those not travelling with their own equipment. This includes essential items such as fins and masks, with separate hire available for snorkelling equipment. The centre also supports local conservation by donating all snorkelling equipment hire fees to the Artamiti animal charity.

The local waters are home to a diverse array of Mediterranean species. You will frequently encounter large shoals of fish moving across the plateaus and walls, alongside various species of octopus and cuttlefish.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants are plentiful around the rocky outcrops and crevices. Divers can spot moray eels, scorpionfish, tube worms, and various flatfish hiding among the stones and sand.

On the deeper walls and rocky structures, look for larger residents such as grouper, stingrays, and parrotfish. The volcanic plateaus and reef flats provide a rich habitat for a wide variety of sea life to thrive.

The dive sites in the Epidavros area range from sheltered, calm bays like 40 Rows—which is ideal for beginners when the sea is unsettled—to more open sites like the Aquarium plateau. Visibility in the area can reach up to 30 metres.
