Residence Oasis is an aparthotel for divers who like a little more control over the evening. You have an apartment rather than a standard hotel room, with a kitchenette, dining area and balcony, so the routine can be as simple as a shower, something cold from the fridge and a quiet meal without putting on respectable clothes again.

The setting suits a mixed holiday particularly well. You can spend the morning by the coast, return to the outdoor pool or settle into the restaurant, while Alghero remains close enough for a walk into town. English is spoken by the hotel team, alongside Italian, German and French, so practical conversations are covered without resorting to underwater hand signals in reception.

There are 80 rooms at the resort, plus a garden, sun terrace, shared lounge and games room. The atmosphere is more functional than formal: self-catering apartments, a restaurant, a pool bar and enough space to make a diving week work without turning every evening into a logistical exercise.

You are in Alghero, Sardinia, on the seafront side of town and close to the beach. Maria Pia Beach is about 150 yards away, while Lido di Alghero Beach is roughly 700 yards away. The hotel’s own beach access is a 50-metre walk to golden sand with sun loungers and parasols.

The location also works when you want something beyond salt water. Alghero Railway Station is about 1 mile away, and the bus stop for Alghero is only 40 metres from the property. The centre of town is around a five-minute walk, putting cafés, restaurants and the old town within easy reach rather than requiring a daily taxi negotiation.

For a meal away from the hotel, La Conchiglia is about 150 yards away, with Lo Chalet Alghero and Bontà Sarda within roughly 0.3 miles and 0.6 miles. Alghero Airport is about 2.7 miles away, around an eight-minute drive, so the transfer at either end of the trip is relatively short.

The apartment layout is the main reason to choose Residence Oasis over a conventional room. A separate bedroom, seating area, dining space and equipped kitchenette give you somewhere to put wet-weather clothes, spread out a few belongings and eat at your own pace. The kitchenette has a stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, kitchenware and dining table; useful equipment when you want breakfast in private or a quick plate before heading out.

Couples can keep things straightforward with a one-bedroom apartment, while the two-bedroom layout is the practical choice for a family or a small group sharing the stay. The larger two-bedroom apartments sleep up to six, and the bunk-bed arrangement makes the sleeping plan more suitable for children or friends than for two couples expecting hotel-style privacy. There is one bathroom, so six guests will need to accept a little morning choreography.

Air conditioning matters when the Sardinian heat has followed you back from the coast. You also have a balcony, flat-screen television, seating area, wardrobe and drying rack for clothing, plus a private bathroom with shower or bath, bidet and hairdryer. Upper floors are reached by stairs only, and quiet hours run from 23:00 to 08:00, which helps if the next morning starts early.

Ristorante Oasis covers breakfast, lunch and dinner on its terrace, with a Mediterranean menu built around fresh, local ingredients and a sea view. The dress code is casual, which is exactly the right level of ceremony when your main achievement of the day has been getting a wetsuit off without falling over.

Breakfast is a buffet served from 07:30, with continental, Italian, Full English or Irish, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices. The restaurant serves lunch from 12:30 to 14:30 and dinner from 19:30 to 22:00. Half-board is available, while the hotel also offers room service during limited periods, from 12:00 to 15:00 and from 18:00 to 22:00.

There is one bar: the Pool Bar, positioned beside the outdoor pool and focused on cocktails. A snack bar, packed lunches and special-diet menus are also available, while children’s meals are offered. The arrangement gives you flexibility, but not an all-day grazing service; if you return hungry outside the restaurant and room-service windows, the kitchenette earns its keep.

The main outdoor pool is the obvious place to let the day slow down, with a bar built into the pool itself. It is open from June to September and is not heated, so it is more useful as a warm-weather cool-down than as a year-round wellness facility. The sun terrace, garden and outdoor furniture give you several places to sit without having to claim the same chair for military reasons.

There is also a hot tub, a games room and a shared lounge with television. For a little movement between dives, the property has a gym, tennis equipment, a tennis court, table tennis, billiards and mini golf. Some of these activities carry an additional charge, so check the arrangement before planning an afternoon tournament.

On the water, you can arrange snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, boat excursions and equipment rental. On land, cycling, hiking and cultural trips are available, including visits to Alghero and Neptune’s Grotto. Musical evenings take place in season, and babysitting is available for families who want an hour or two to themselves.

Free private parking is available on site without reservation, which is useful if you are hiring a car to reach beaches and coastal sites beyond Alghero. Car hire can be arranged, and the hotel also offers an airport shuttle. Luggage storage, a concierge, laundry, pressing, a reception safe and a doctor on request cover the less glamorous parts of travel rather neatly.

Check-in runs from 15:00 to midnight, and you need to advise the property of your expected arrival time. Check-out is from 09:00 to 10:00. Cash, Visa and Mastercard are accepted. WiFi is free in the public areas according to the accommodation details, while the hotel’s own service description presents WiFi as available throughout the property.

Children of any age are welcome, but children aged three and over are charged as adults. Cots and extra beds are not available, so choose the apartment layout around the beds already provided rather than hoping to add another one later. Smoking is not allowed, pets are not accepted, parties are not permitted, and the property observes quiet hours overnight.
