FS Dive Coach

Located within the Cabo de Gatas-Nijar Natural Park, FS Dive Coach serves as a dedicated hub for advanced diving disciplines. The centre is positioned to take advantage of the unique Mediterranean underwater landscape, providing a base for those looking to push beyond recreational limits.

With over 25 years of experience, the centre has established itself as a specialist facility. It is not merely a local dive shop but a training ground for technical proficiency, focusing on the precision required for deep, gas-dependent, and overhead environment diving.

The centre is led by Franjo Sanchez, a RAID regional director and Poseidon expert. This level of professional affiliation ensures that training follows rigorous international standards, particularly for those pursuing instructor-level qualifications or highly specialised technical certifications.

The team provides instruction in English and Spanish, making the centre accessible to an international community of technical divers. Whether you are working towards a Dive Master certification or refining your skills in a Cave Rescue Workshop, the instruction is rooted in professional expertise.

The course catalogue is extensive, catering to everyone from those starting their journey to advanced technical specialists. Under the RAID affiliation, you can progress through standard certifications up to Dive Master and Instructor levels, including specialised training such as the Try Dive Instructor and First Aid Instructor courses.

For technical divers, the centre offers a deep curriculum. This includes Nitrox, Sidemount, Twinset, and various decompression modules such as Advanced Decompression and Normoxic Decompression. The technical suite extends into the overhead environments with Cavern, Cave 1, Cave 2, and Cave Specialist training, as well as dedicated Rebreather courses covering Sport Diver, Decompression, and both Normoxic and Hypoxic Trimix configurations.

Professional divers can also access specialised training in DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) and equipment maintenance, including Regulator Service Technician and Gas Blender TMX certifications.

The centre is equipped for serious divers, offering full cylinder and equipment hire. For those who prefer to travel light, a range of diving kit is available for rent on-site.

Beyond recreational needs, the facility functions as a technical workshop. It provides professional services including regulator servicing, cylinder and valve maintenance, and gas blending. This makes it a practical stop for divers who need to ensure their life-support equipment is in peak condition.

The reefs of Cabo de Gatas are home to significant populations of Mediterranean barracuda, which often appear in large, impressive schools. The underwater landscape is shaped by diverse marine life that thrives within the protected waters of the natural park.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants are a constant presence for those observing the reef closely. Divers can find a variety of species amongst the crevices and sandy patches that define the Mediterranean seabed.
