Located in Isla Plana within the municipality of Cartagena, Divergente Buceo sits perfectly positioned between Mazarrón and La Azohía. The centre is built around a deep passion for the Mediterranean, offering a professional environment for those looking to progress from their first breaths underwater to complex technical profiles.

The school is particularly noted for its expertise in overhead environments and technical diving. Its location provides immediate access to some of the region's most significant underwater features, making it a primary hub for divers looking to push their limits in controlled, challenging settings.

As an SSI affiliated centre, Divergente Buceo provides a structured educational path for all levels of experience. The curriculum is designed to take divers from the initial Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver levels through to professional roles such as Divemaster and Assistant Instructor.

The centre's teaching philosophy extends into highly specialised territory, offering advanced training in sidemount, decompression diving, and full cave exploration. This technical focus is supported by a curriculum that includes equipment techniques and the science of diving to ensure a high standard of safety and competence.

The training programme is extensive, covering the entire SSI spectrum. Beginners can start with Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver courses, while those looking to advance can progress through Advanced Open Water Diver and Specialty Diver certifications.

For technical divers, the centre offers a deep catalogue of advanced training, including Nitrox, Decompression diving, Extended Range, and Technical Extended Range. Specialist skills such as Sidemount, Cavern diving, and Full Cave Diving are also taught, alongside professional tracks for Divemaster and Instructor training.

Beyond standard scuba, the centre also provides instruction in freediving (apnea) and specialised skills like buoyancy control, navigation, and the use of dive scooters.

The centre operates two dedicated vessels to transport divers to the local sites. The first is an 8m catamaran powered by a 300 CV engine, designed to carry up to 12 divers. The second is a 7.5m semi-rigid vessel with a 250 CV engine, which has a capacity for 10 divers.

Both boats are configured for diver comfort and efficient passenger transport. The vessels are equipped to support various dive profiles, including night dives, and carry Nitrox for divers requiring enriched air.

The shore-based facilities are divided into functional zones to manage the transition from land to sea. The ground floor contains a dedicated wet area featuring changing rooms, rinsing tanks, and a filling station for cylinders.

Full equipment hire is available for all courses, ensuring that divers can access the necessary kit for both recreational and technical training. The upper floor serves as a social and educational hub, offering a lounge area with sea views, a meeting room, and a versatile space for briefings and relaxation.

The local diving environment is characterised by the thermal influence of the Cueva del Agua, where water temperatures can vary between 21 and 29 degrees. Divers should be prepared for these shifts when moving between open water and cave environments.
