Carp Island Resort is a locally owned operation situated on a private island in Peleliu. While most diving activity in Palau is centred around Koror, this resort is positioned to minimise travel time to some of the most significant sites in the archipelago.

Access to the resort involves a 45-minute boat transfer from the main island. Once there, you are only 15 minutes away from exceptional dive sites, including Blue Corner and Blue Hoel, allowing for more time in the water and less time spent on transit.

The centre operates with English-speaking staff and provides a range of services from introductory dives to advanced training. They cater to various levels, offering refresher dives and special care sessions for beginners to ensure comfort before heading out on more challenging sites.

For those looking to progress their qualifications, the centre provides structured training programmes. They also facilitate night diving, provided the minimum group size is met, allowing you to experience the reef's nocturnal activity.

The centre offers a variety of training programmes, including the Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver courses. For those who have taken a break from diving, refresher dives are available with options for either one or two tanks to rebuild your confidence. They also host introductory dives for those looking to experience the underwater world for the first time.

A full range of rental kit is available on-site, including BCDs, regulators, wetsuits, fins, masks, and snorkels. For those navigating the strong currents typical of the region, current hooks are also provided for hire. Dive computers are available to ensure you can monitor your profiles accurately throughout your stay.

The reefs around Peleliu and Koror are incredibly biodiverse. You will regularly encounter large pelagics such as sharks, including grey reef sharks, whitetip sharks, and leopard sharks, alongside much larger schools of jacks, barracuda, and Napoleon wrasse.

On the walls and reef flats, the scenery is defined by a rich variety of hard corals, soft corals, sea fans, and sea pens. You can find various reef fish, including humphead parrotfish, butterflyfish, and fusiliers, moving through the coral structures.

Among the crevices and anemones, look for clownfish, lionfish, and various species of groupers. Turtles are also a common sight, frequently seen resting or feeding on the reef.

Macro life and smaller residents include sea anemones and a variety of smaller reef species that inhabit the complex coral architecture.

The region is subject to fast and changing currents, particularly at prominent sites such as Blue Corner and Ulong Channel. These currents are a key part of the ecosystem, driving the abundance of marine life.

Conditions are generally suitable for diving year-round, though divers should be prepared for the dynamic nature of the water movement in the channels.
