Scuba Daze Belize

Scuba Daze Belize is situated on North Ambergris Caye, approximately 4.5 miles north of the bridge in the Mata Grande zone. This location puts you in immediate proximity to the massive reef system that defines this part of the Caribbean.

The centre operates as a PADI IDC Centre, providing a professional base for both recreational divers and those looking to progress through their training. Whether you are looking for a guided reef excursion or a customised day out, the focus is on local expertise and reliable service.

The centre is owned and operated by Samuel Lin, a PADI IDC Instructor. The team is composed of experienced professionals, including instructors, dive masters, boat captains, and snorkelling guides.

All instruction and guidance are conducted in English. The team is structured to handle a variety of clients, from families on snorkelling trips to divers undertaking formal PADI certifications.

Scuba Daze Belize offers a full range of PADI training. For those new to the water, the Discover Scuba Diving programme is available to introduce you to the underwater environment.

For those seeking formal certification, the centre provides various PADI courses, ranging from initial entry-level qualifications to more advanced training.

The fleet consists of four vessels tailored to different group sizes. The Twister is the largest, a 38-foot boat powered by twin 200HP engines, capable of carrying between 16 and 18 passengers.

For smaller groups, the centre operates Indecency, a 28-foot boat with a 150HP engine that holds 12 to 14 passengers, and a second 25-foot boat with a 150HP engine for 10 to 12 passengers. The smallest vessel is Daze Off, a 25-foot boat with a 150HP engine suitable for 8 to 10 passengers.

The reef environment is characterised by extensive coral formations, including staghorn corals and various Gorgonian species. You will find a diverse array of sponges, such as barrel sponges, decorating the reef structure.

In the water column and along the reef, you can encounter various pelagic and reef species. This includes Blacktip reef shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus), Nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum), and Reef shark (Carcharhinus). Larger residents such as the Goliath grouper (Epinephelus itajara) and various Snappers (Lutjanidae) are also part of the local ecosystem.

As you move across the reef flat and sandy areas, keep an eye out for rays and turtles. Spotted eagle ray (Aetobatus narinari) and Southern stingray (Hypanus americanus) are frequently seen, alongside loggerhead turtles and green turtle. You may also spot Barracuda (Sphyraena), Jack (Carangidae), and various Grouper (Epinephelinae) species patrolling the edges of the reef.
