As an SSI Diamond Training Center, the operation focuses on high-quality, personalised instruction rather than high-volume tourism. Whether you are looking to complete your first certification or are an experienced diver seeking advanced training, the service is tailored to your specific level and goals.

The centre is a family-run operation led by Chris and Nealan, bringing over 16 years of experience and more than 6,000 dives to the team. This depth of experience is central to their approach, ensuring that safety and technical precision are maintained on every outing.

Instruction is available in English, French, and Spanish, making it an accessible choice for an international community of divers. The team manages everything from introductory courses to professional-level training, maintaining a focus on small groups to ensure individual attention.

ChrisDiving offers a comprehensive curriculum through SSI, ranging from the initial Try Scuba and Discover Scuba Diving experiences to full Open Water Diver certifications. They also provide the SSI Referral programme for those looking to continue their training elsewhere.

For more experienced divers, the centre provides Advanced Open Water Diver, Rescue Diver, and various specialty courses including Nitrox, Deep Diver, Night Diver, Perfect Buoyancy, Navigation, and Computer Diving. Technical training is also available through Sidemount and Independent Diver courses. The centre supports professional development, offering Divemaster and Instructor programmes, alongside Emergency First Response (EFR) training.

The centre provides a full range of rental kit for those not travelling with their own equipment. This includes regulators, wetsuits, fins, and masks, ensuring you have everything required for your dives.

For night diving, torches are available for hire. The facility is designed to support both recreational and advanced divers, with Nitrox available for those looking to extend their bottom time.

The region is a hotspot for large pelagics. You can encounter manta rays, particularly between September and October, as well as humpback whales and dolphins. Reef sharks, including whitetip reef sharks, are a regular presence, and bull sharks can be found during the season from May to November.

In the mid-water and around the reef structures, you will see plenty of action from jacks, snappers, barracuda, and various species of rays. Turtles and eels are also frequently spotted navigating the reef.

Macro life and smaller inhabitants include various species of rays and reef fish that inhabit the rocky and volcanic formations. The biodiversity is supported by a healthy ecosystem of corals and sponges that provide cover for the local marine population.

Marine conditions in the area can vary significantly. The sea is generally calmer from May to August, making it an ideal window for many divers. The region is influenced by the Papagayo winds, which can affect swell and surface conditions.

At the Bat Islands, divers should be prepared for strong currents. During the rainy season, increased plankton levels can occur, which may impact visibility but often serves to attract a higher concentration of marine life.
