Scuba Dive Costa Rica - Potrero & Flamingo

Scuba Dive Costa Rica is a multilingual diving operation situated in the heart of Guanacaste, the primary diving region of Costa Rica. Based in the Potrero and Flamingo area, the centre is strategically positioned to access the most significant sites along the Pacific coast, including the Las Catalinas complex.

The centre is conveniently located just one hour from Liberia International Airport, making it an accessible base for divers arriving from abroad. From the reef flats to more remote offshore sites, the operation covers a wide geographical range, including Tamarindo, Brasilito, and Reserva Conthal.

The centre is a PADI affiliated diving provider, offering a professional environment for both recreational divers and those looking to begin their training. The team provides services in both English and Spanish, ensuring clear communication for instruction and dive briefings.

Instructional programmes are designed to cater to a wide spectrum of abilities. This includes the Discover Scuba Diving programme for those new to the water, as well as full certification courses and specialty training for experienced divers.

A full range of PADI courses is available on-site. Beginners can start with the Discover Scuba Diving programme or work through the Open Water Diver course.

For those looking to advance their skills, the centre offers Advanced Courses, Specialty Courses, and Rescue Courses. This structured progression allows divers to build confidence and technical proficiency in the local waters.

The centre provides assistance with accommodation selection to ensure you are located close to the departure points, with various holiday rentals available near the dive sites. For those not travelling with their own kit, rental options are available to suit different needs.

The local waters are home to a variety of large pelagics and reef residents. You can regularly encounter dolphins and sea turtles while exploring the reefs.

Seasonality plays a significant role in the local marine life. Between May and October, the Bat Islands become a prime location for seeing bull sharks.
