Medusa Divers Dive Center

Located in the Perhentian Islands of Terengganu, Medusa Divers provides access to some of Malaysia's most diverse tropical reef systems. The centre operates seasonally from February to October, taking advantage of the optimal conditions in the South China Sea.

Beyond local reef exploration, the team organises international diving expeditions during the off-season from November to April. This allows them to bring their expertise to various world-class diving destinations across the globe.

The centre is run by Mikele and Anna, a duo from the Basque Country and Catalonia who bring a personal, enthusiast-led approach to diving. They operate as a PADI affiliated centre, providing instruction and guided fun dives.

Their expertise extends into professional training, where they guide students through the PADI Divemaster course. For those interested in the environmental side of the industry, they offer specialised training in coral regeneration.

Instruction is provided in Spanish, catering to a specific linguistic community of divers. Their commitment to the ocean is evidenced by their collaboration with PTP and their active involvement in marine conservation efforts.

Medusa Divers offers a comprehensive range of PADI courses for all experience levels. Beginners can start with the Open Water Diver course, while those looking to expand their skills can progress through the Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver programmes.

For those pursuing a professional career, the centre provides Divemaster (DMT) training. They also offer various PADI specialties to help divers refine specific skills.

Unique to this centre is the OceanQuest programme, which focuses on coral propagation and marine regeneration. This allows divers to move beyond simple exploration and engage directly with reef restoration techniques.

The reefs are home to a vast array of tropical fish and vibrant coral colonies. Divers will encounter a high density of various fish species moving amongst the reef structures.

For macro enthusiasts, the area is particularly rewarding. You can find a variety of nudibranchs tucked into the reef, offering plenty of detail for close-up photography and observation.
