La Toubana Hotel & Spa

La Toubana Hotel & Spa is built for a stay where the sea sets the pace and the evening does not need much organising. You have a private white-sand beach below, tropical gardens around you and views across Saint-Anne Bay, with the infinity pool, restaurant and bar gathered above the shoreline. It is the sort of place where you can move from salt water to a sun lounger, then from a sun lounger to a table without turning the day into a logistical exercise.

Toubana La Plage is the more practical answer when you would rather remain close to the water. It serves lunch in a relaxed beach setting, with fresh, lighter dishes and a casual dress code; service reaches the sun loungers, so you can eat without staging a full expedition back to the main building. The hotel also serves an American-style buffet breakfast, giving you a straightforward start before a day out.

Le Bar de la Mer is the single bar, facing the sea and suited to the hour when the light turns golden. Tropical cocktails, house-made infused rums, fresh juices and tapas give you enough reason to stay for one more drink. The usual danger is not poor planning but discovering that sunset has made the walk to dinner feel unexpectedly ambitious.

The infinity pool is the obvious place to stop when you have had enough of schedules. It overlooks the sea, Marie-Galante and La Caravelle Beach, with the restaurant and bar close by; sun loungers, beach chairs and parasols are available both around the hotel and by the private beach. You can choose between a proper swim above the bay and a slower afternoon on the sand, which is a useful choice when your legs have already done their work for the day.

For a more deliberate reset, TOUBANA SPA BY SISLEY has three treatment rooms, including a double room, as well as a sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and sea-facing relaxation room. Nearby public parking is free and does not require a reservation, which is useful if you decide to make the stay a base for exploring Guadeloupe rather than leaving the car untouched.
